From discovering electronic music on the radio in his mother’s kitchen to headlining clubs and festivals around the world, Paul van Dyk has become known not just as a forefather of trance, but as an icon of dance culture.
Growing up in Communist East Germany before the fall of the Berlin wall, one of van Dyk’s irst DJ gigs was at then‐newly opened club and future landmark Tresor, which was a good omen of achievements to come. In 1999, he launched a residency at Cream Amnesia... in the world party capital of Ibiza, which 17 years later is still going strong as one of the longest‐running residencies in clubbing history, and in 2008, his New Year’s Eve show in Rio de Janeiro drew a then‐record‐setting crowd of 1.3 million. He has been voted the world’s No.1 DJ—twice.
With eight studio albums and countless singles and remixes to his name, Van Dyk shines just as brightly as a producer. His 1994 release “For An Angel” is regarded by Mixmag as one of the greatest dance tracks of all time, and his third LP, ‘Relections,’ was nominated for a Grammy. Van Dyk has remixed some of electronic music’s biggest names—Deep Dish, Faithless, and Underworld, to name a few—in addition to pop music icons including Madonna, Britney Spears, and U2; and his music can be heard in ilms such as ‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,’ and ‘Zurdo’ (the latter for which he won a Mexican Oscar), as well as for commercials and video games. In 2017, he released his latest album, ‘From Then On,’ to major press acclaim.
Over the course of his decades‐long career, van Dyk has garnered many awards and accolades, including multiple IDMAs, the title of Mixmag’s Man of the Year in 1999, and Mexico’s Lunas del Auditorio award for Best Electronic Music Live Artist. He has also been recognized for his work in anti‐war and voting movements such as Rock the Vote, receiving Berlin’s Medal of Honor and MTV’s Chiuku award.

Saturday 15th September Torridon & The Guilty Pleasures - Wedding & Function Band will be hitting the stage while supporting Dream Believe Achieve - Highland!
Dream Believe Achieve Highland was started by Stephanie & Kris Douglas to raise funds for specialised therapies for local children with additional needs that are not provided by the NHS. This idea came as Steph & Kris’s son Sam has had phenomenal support from locals with the ‘Step up for Sam’ campaign which has raised a huge amount of money to give Sam who has cerebral palsy treatment not available on the NHS. It’s now time again for them to fundraise for others.

User

great as always good to see lawless & The leash on the main stage for a change defanetly one of their best performances and great to hear how good they can sound on a big stage bar staff great as always .its a pity there was not better support for more local bands .

but there is so much on in inverness its hard to pull in the bigger crowds .

the main act were also great .YER NANA .the one thing with the ironworks is definitely the sound as i have seen many of smaller bands who play local and the sound here is way better here on the big stage will be back for sure

User

Went to see Primal Scream last night at this venue and it was great. There was plenty of room. The staff were pleasant even when really busy at the end of the night.

A really good venue

User

Went for Hogmanay bash. Rhythm an Reel were awesome. Atmosphere was fabulous real party night. Bar staff were on top form despite the crowd didn't wait long to be served. Certainly be back

User

Had a great night at Ironworks . Rythm and reel were fantastic. Kept us dancing and time just flew by. It was 12 o’clock before I could blink. Good start to the New Year

User

Great venue, saw Stiff Little Fingers here the night after I'd seen them at Glasgow Barrowlands. Nice calm venue, if you want to go to the front and party on you can - if you want to stand to the side or the back you can as well without being knocked around. Sound was really good, staff were friendly and not overbearing at all. I'll be looking out for future gigs here as regional option to see my favourite bands.

User

First time in the venue last night for Phil Campbell and the bastard sons. Brilliant venue. Good sound and big enough stage too.The drink was cheap enough as well.

Well worth the two hour trip up. The only complaint I have ( and it's a minor one) is the bar shut too early. :(

User

Fantastic venue. Recently went to see Skid Row and then Live/Wire- The AC/DC show, brilliant nights both of them and we took our eleven year old son who had a great time. Staff were friendly and very helpful, it was a great atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again very soon.

User

Amazing evening watching Hayseed Dixie. Wasn't overly busy but the atmosphere was fantastic. Brilliant show by the band, the sound was great we stood with my 13 yr old daughter at the front all night with no worries and meeting them all in the foyer put the icing on a great night.

User

Was up till tonight a great venue, just been to see the stranglers tonight and discovered that this venue is more about takings than people's enjoyment. Totally over filled tonight.. created a tin of sardines crowd, flat atmosphere and with no room to move not surprising.. after great gigs to see primal scream, frightened rabbit, temperance movement and more felt that it was completely out of control crowd numbers tonight on the verge of someone being seriously hurt, fire hazards st al. From someone who is a regular to gigs in London in the past feel this place needs to breathe and relook at its principles. Great gig tonight though extremely uncomfortable

User

Great small venue, been several times now, bar staff and door staff all very friendly and helpful. Stage is a good size and good views from everywhere. Only problem is the noise from the bar area can be very loud and I totally understand why some artists want the bar shut during their performances (Van Morrison). Although us public don't like that! Other music venues have separate bar area and that would be an improvement.

User

Another great night of live music at the Ironworks thanks to top Scottish band Primal Scream and a very impressive support in Bo-Ningen .

Good healthy crowd in for the support but seemed to stand off the front of the stage for some unknown reason , full of energy and great guitar , I personally would go and see them again .

Then out come the main event , Primal Scream just don't loose it , starting with "Moving on Up" and continuing a great set finishing with "Rocks " , Bobby Gillespie gets the crowd involved with hand clapping and song participation and then back on for a two song encore . Great night Ironworks keep it live and I for one will keep supporting this venue .

User

Very disappointed for our first visit here! Booked tickets for tonight for the abba tribute directly at the box office. Was never asked if we required seats and as we had never been before I didn't know that there was this option. As someone with mobility issues I would have paid extra for seats rather than have to take my walking stick! Please offer people!!!

User

Great venue, but you'd think for somewhere that holds gigs, you'd be able to hear the fire alarm! good job it was a false alarm.

User

Great band playing but trying to get out at the end was a nightmare. Only one exit. Waiting for 10 mins in a queue. Where the shop at the front was didn't help the situation as people were stopping to look and this made matters worse.

User

Brilliant to have a venue this size so far up north to attack artists too but the bar being so close to the stage is a nightmare.. at one point last night I thought Amy was going to walk of stage.

User

Alabama 3 were Amazing as always...

But the security is terrible!

The man/idiot with dark hair and black top that was with a woman with long blonde hair wearing a silver dress/shorts near front left side...

He was hassling other women and myself looking for a fight!

Yes really hard man picking fights with women!!!

He held a drink above my head and squared up to me, luckily I have done security and can handle myself and talk people down...

I tried to get the security on the stairs attention by waving and pointing but not interested and there was no security at the sides only two security over barrier at front right hand side.

Please sort it out before someone gets injured...

User

Packed in like sardines, bar exit and toilets at same location , that made any movement all to one point . Very difficult.

Was at Amy Macdonald concert and it sounded as if there was a separate loud party with no consideration to others. Amy macdonald commented on the noise twice and venue staff did nothing..

Poor venue.

User

Absolute bloody joke tonight. Paid £13 to watch a band. That were supposed to be a rock version of the bee jees but in fact were a complete joke. After stating this me and a friend were asked to leave £13 down each for 2 songs.

Tragedy please don't waste your money cause there aweful. Attracted a crowd of around 50 yetvat least 10% were asked to leave within 30 mins of the start. Complete joke of a gig.

User

Such potential for great live gigs BUT...the way the bar is placed and kept open the whole time just results in endless loud chatter by people standing by it all the way through every live session I have attended. Do something about it as even the artists are complaining. I for one will avoid going again as I actually want to enjoy the music not hear endless people talking
