Isle Of Rona

About Isle Of Rona

The beautiful and remote island of Rona lies between Scotland's spectacular west coast and the isle of Skye. A holiday here must be one of the most unique in Britain: with no shops, roads or traffic, and just one permanent residence, Rona is a true island

Isle Of Rona Description

To preserve the tranquility of the island, just 3 beautiful holiday cottages have been re-built from the ruins of Dry Harbour settlement, last inhabited in the 1920s, and now using 21st century technology, through clean green wind turbine energy.

Stay in a romantic hideaway cottage for two, a seashore family house or rent the whole Dry harbour settlement with family or friends. Explore or beachcomb, gather seafood, dine on the island's fine produce, watch the dramatic sunsets or just relax in front of a fire.

For the more adventurous a cosy bunkhouse is situated right on the shore overlooking Big Harbour, one of the most beautiful anchorages in Scotland. Or if you want to get even closer to nature, there are sheltered camping areas with facilities at Big Harbour.
