Ever wondered what happens to all this water bottles after the race? This year surfers against sewage are recycling them for us :)

User

What a race! Def. the toughest, but also the most beautiful race I've ever done. A big thanks to the organisers, the Isle of Skye Pipe Band, the many volunteers and supporting locals en route. The first mile with it's never ending hill was quite a warm-up. And that hill from mile 7-10... I so deserved that beautiful medal! :-) Oh, and the soup was delicious and also much appreciated!!!

User

What a brilliant event, so friendly with lots of support on the route, not only from the locals but also from the folk in the cars that were stopped to let us cross the roads. Thanks to the pipers at mile 5. Amazing choices of soup at the end 7 or so! And a fine ale too. What happy memories, not only have I got the t shirt but bought the hoodie and hat too! I'll be back for sure. Thanks Portree for a wonderful weekend.

User

Was a good hard course . Lots of hills . Lots of support and well organised . Good night out followed in shinty club

User

Tough route but did it fab not having traffic this year hope you are able to continue this in future years. Kids at water stations were so enthusiastic and full of energy well done them too for standing about in that heat and all the adult helpers too of course. Ceilidh was great Idea to loosen of the legs too. Not stiff at all next day all round a fab day.

User

Tough course but scenic and great support along the course. Great organisation and pre run set up..medal, t-shirt, shoe bag and the beer at the end almost made up for the hills

User

That was tough! Very well organised event. Real welcoming, community spirit.

Only my second time running the Skye 1/2...but...felt easier the opposite direction!???

Coming back next year anyway.

Thanks to all the many folks involved on the day and in the run up.

Skye half marathon.... What can I say.... Loved.... Loved... Loved it.

OK not my fastest.... I think a personal best at enjoying the scenery and getting my money's worth of my entry fee.... Gorgeous place. Big shout out to Dianne Smith lovely to meet you and your family your little girl is beautiful.. Takes after mum...... Well done x

Thank you sooooo much to Elaine Thomson for the encouragement ; the jelly babies and joining me at the last few metres to cross the finish line....so chuffed to see you. we will definitely be back but might have Peterhead jogscotland Sunday Stumblers mini bus with some more of the stumblers.... Especially if there is a 10k too.....loved it.... Loved it.... Loved it....Oh and the medals are ace love a bit of bling

User

Really well organised, lovely scenery, my first ever half marathon, my legs still hurt 3 days later, we don't have hills like that in Newcastle!! A tough course but I got to the finish line (eventually!) and I was so proud of myself :-) would love to do it again next year to (will do lots more hill training though!). I am so going to find my local Great North Run easy after that (I hope) 👍👌🥇

On behalf of Steven gray . He has run loads of marathons and half marathons and this is the best . Loved every minute of this . Wanted to do it again as soon as finished . Been buzzing for days . His comments were 'beats Windsor half marathon hands down . Well organised . Brilliant people. Wonderful time . Thank you

User

My first race ever and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, brilliant organisation and loved the free medal, T-Shirt, shoe bag, food and beer at the end.

Already booked our accommodation for next year.

User

My first half marathon ever, and what a race to pick! Weather was warm, but not too hot; a challenging course with a few surprise hills; super organisation and a whole community getting behind it! Will hopefully be back again soon!

User

My 5th sky half and my best yet, every year it gets better and better, the course is the most beautiful and scenic course I've had the pleasure of doing. The marshals/volunteers are always so friendly and encouraging and the bands are amazing. Thankyou to everyone that makes this race possible and of course so special. Hopefully see you again next year

User

Lovely race challenging but not brutal ,

great organisation by all love the ability to get number day before.

Perfect views

would be happy to come back and recommend this one to anybody looking for a first class race.

User

Loved everything about the skye half marathon tough course but well worth it and all the staff and supporters were brilliant. Will be looking to do this half marathon again in the future

User

I was just spectating this year but my wife ran it and loved it! We went as support with my parents and they loved it and the atmosphere was superb and great to see the community involvement. The road closures were definitely an added bonus and Skye came out tops with the weather. Will hopefully do the race next year, if not I’ll be sure to spectate again or volunteer. Good job all

ps the wee ones in the fun run were inspirational

User

Finished Skye half at six months pregnant in a much better time than expected Loved it! Great event!

User

Fantastic!!! Brilliantly organised race. Tough wee course but worth it, views were immense. The volunteers were amazing, the whole town must have been out helping! Had a great day out and there was beer at the finish line, couldn’t have asked for more!

User

Brilliant race. Very well organised with a great friendly atmosphere. It is hilly and much more challenging than lowland races but worth the journey. I’ve done this race a number one of times and though I prefer the original route it was good not having traffic on the road. Thanks to the organisers and volunteers for making it such a great event.

User

Awesome half. Now my favourite. Very friendly and well run...
