My plan for a spring collection was to have a leaf theme and to add a pop of pink with some enamels (there hasn’t been nearly enough pink in my grid recently), but as things go, best laid plans and all that, it hasn’t happened! But, I’ve been wearing an old pair of my earrings recently, and have gotten a load of compliments on them, so I thought I might bring them back. And, they fit in with my planned leaf theme. Simple silver jewellery seems to be really popular right now, and I think they fit the bill. What do you think? Should I bring them back?

User

So here they are! These wee guys are my zero waste silver studs! I’ve been making them for quite a while, and they have been really popular, but they have never been available online. As I make my jewellery, I end up with a lot of silver remnants on my bench. I decided to start making the bits into wee stud earrings. Because the materials vary, no two earrings will ever be the same. It’s a great and stylish way to make full use of all of the materials that I have invested in, leaving zero waste! It’s these little things that take me further down the path of being an ethical jeweller 😊 the link is in the comments

I’m gathering some pieces to take over to @thehellyeahshop tomorrow. Exciting! I’m sending some lovely simple silver work that I’ve been making alongside my chain inspired enamels. There are some oval necklaces, oval bangles, and some zero waste stud earrings. I’m kinda excited about these, so they’ll have their own wee post soon enough! 😃 pop on over and say hi to Zoe for me!

This past week has been Fashion Revolution week. @fash_rev is encouraging people to ask brands “who made my clothes?” and demand greater transparency in the fashion supply chain. . Sustainability and transparency are important not only in clothing, but in jewellery manufacture as well. So, it’s important to also ask “who made my jewellery?” . I am one of the jewellery makers 😊. I strive to become a more sustainable, ecological, and ethical maker. I regularly review my practi...ces to see if I can do more. Nobody is perfect, and we all have our footprints, but we can all try to be better, and not beat ourselves up for the things we haven’t done yet. It’s a process.... . I hope that when people choose my jewellery, they are choosing it not only because they love it, but also because it is a purchase that they can feel good about.

#Reposting @braw_wee with @instarepost_app -- We've been having a quiet few weeks at the Braw Wee Emporium in terms of footfall in the area and online sales - we are assuming it is the Easter holidays and hope that things pick up this weekend after payday - we've been here before, it is stressful, unnerving, causes sleepless nights and stops us from being able to do the things we need and want to do to grow the business. So this post from Holly Tucker on Instagram struck a co...rd with us today - making a bit more effort to find the small businesses in your area/ city and spending the tiniest amount or sharing their posts, inviting friends to like their page actually goes a long way to helping them keep their doors open, sanity and our communities vibrant places to hang out in!⁣ ⁣ So this Pay Weekend - get out and shop local wherever you are! But hopefully you are doon the Barras!⁣ ⁣ Was thinking the other day about something Jo Wicks said on our podcast🎙 about how he supported an independent restaurant consciously, as he normally would walk to a chain. He let people know on social media📱 what he was doing and, from this publicity, he stopped a small restaurant that was about to maybe go out of business and turned it around so they had a 3 month waiting list! Now, we don’t all have huge followings like Joe, but we do ALL have the power to change the lives of small businesses and independents - by voting with our money💰 Simple as that, when you spend any money ask yourself "could I walk a little further or wait a little longer so that I can help a small business?" 🤔Imagine what you spend in a week and if you spent just 50% of that consciously with a business who needs you? Imagine if everyone reading this post did exactly that...can you see the impact? I can! And yes, 'small' can be more expensive, that's because it's quality, ethical, good for you, creative, unique, handmade with love❤️it's NOT because there are huge margins in what they're selling and that the business owner is secretly saving up for a yacht! VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY EVERYONE...VOTE FOR THE TYPE OF WORLD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN🌍⁣ ⁣ #votewithyourmoney #shopsmall #supportsmallbusiness #buybetter #holly

Did you know that not only do I sell my jewellery through the Scottish Design Exchange, I also work there. Have a read of my new blog post to see what it’s all about! 😊

Are you going to Hell Yeah tonight for the launch of Bonnie Bling’s new collection? There will be bubbles! And discounts! And even the fabulous Blinger herself will be there!

Happy Earth Day! What are you doing to live a more eco-friendly life? Every little bit counts you know! There are so many things you can do from carrying a reusable water bottle, to asking not to be served a straw, to buying products without packaging. Can you do more?

We took another wee day trip today. We headed west, but due to a detour and traffic, we ended up in Callander again! We always manage to end up there! The whole countryside was buzzin today. There were people everywhere - hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and all in various states of undress! 😂 It was so nice to see so many people out enjoying the glorious weather on the Easter bank holiday weekend. Are you doing anything special?

User

Love it when a @cooksongold order arrives! Look at all that shiny new ecosilver! 😃 ♻️💚

Remember those unfinished dragonfly wings I posted back during March meet the maker? Well, encouraged by the lovely Bonnie from @bonbonboo_ , I made them into wee earrings. One pair is reserved for her, but the other two are up for grabs. The wee ones are already listed on Etsy. These guys are made completely with recycled silver.

Do you ever just have one of those days? I spent this beautiful day in the studio. To be honest, I wasn’t feeling it. The creativity wasn’t flowing. So, I started melting things. I love to melt silver, because it’s unpredictable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. For not feeling it, I ended up having a pretty productive day and am happy with what came out of it. What do you think? Do you like the organic shapes of melty silver?

User

Did you know that my enamel collection is 50% off? Check out my Etsy shop and help me make room for the next collection! These pieces are made with lead-free enamel on copper offcuts and they all hang from recycled sari silk 😊

Apparently it’s #nationalpetday, so obviously I have to share a photo of the wee demon we share the house with. We adore her, but this photo is a great representation of both sides of her personality. 😂 Suma definitely rules our house! 😊 . . . .... #jaubreyjewellery #nationalpetday #catsofinstagram #gingerkitty #ginger #rescuecat

Have you watched Our Planet yet? We binged the first half this weekend and it absolutely broke me open. The tears started with the baby flamingo and the sobs started with the walruses. It is a beautiful and important show that should be mandatory viewing. . . #Reposting @wwf_uk with @instarepost_app -- "Never has it been more important to understand how the natural world works - and how to help it. What we do in the next 20 years will determine the future for all life on E...arth." - our ambassador Sir David Attenborough . @OurPlanet, our collaboration with #Netflix, explores the world's most important habitats, the threats they face and the solutions needed. Have you started watching? . #OurPlanet #ShareOurPlanet #WWF #DavidAttenborough #FightForYourWorld

Had a really inspiring day yesterday at the Making Impact conference exploring the UN Sustainable Development Goals in relation to jewellery making. I learned loads, met new people, and got to be a little creative! During the conference, we were asked to make a pledge of 5 things we can do in our businesses towards these goals. My goals include switching from my current website provider to an ethical one and writing an ethical policy for my business. At the end of the day we ...were asked to conceptualise these goals in a piece of art. I’m not so good at that 😂, so @ailsa.ritchie and I worked together and came up with something showing one of her goals, which was moving to recycled packaging. (See my stories for more of these pieces) It was a great day that left me inspired to keep working towards a more ethical business! 💚 thanks to the @incorporationofgoldsmiths for hosting!
