About J Puddleducks Childcare

Limited Spaces available now.

We have a nursery and after school club in Dyce, the After school club is situated beside the train station and the Nursery is on Victoria Street.

Opening hours are 7. 30 am - 6. 00pm for both Nursery and After School Club.

Parking is available outside the nursery at Victoria street and at the Station car park at Station Road.

Meals - the nursery will provide breakfast, lunch, evening meals and snacks if required, we have our own cook who produces all the nursery food on the premises. We can cater for special dietary requirements on request.

Both nurseries cater for children aged birth all the way up untill they start school.

Baby room (0-2. 5yrs)

Our baby room caters for children from birth through to two and a half years old. In this room the children have a variety of equipment to play with and interest them. The staff strive to educate the children in a fun way in this room, as well as learning every day skills such as sharing, how to feed themselves and potty training they will have the chance to take part in activities such as arts and crafts, sensory play, songs and stories, walks and outings and outdoor play.

The staff in this room will prepare your child before they move through to the toddler room, this will be done through a series of visits to the toddler department and by the staff helping the children develop the independence and confidence they need to take the next steps.

Staff in this room follow the pre birth to three documents.

Toddler room (2. 5 - 5yrs)

This room caters for children aged two up until they begin primary one. The staff in this room go further to promote the childrens independence and the children and carers are consulted on everything from menu ideas to which resources should be purchased for the nursery. Through emphasis is still on the children having fun more of the activities which they are carrying out will give them the knowledge and skills that they need to progress onto school. The range of activities that the children in this room enjoy are too long to list but include - trips and outings, daily outdoor play, arts and crafts, imaginary play etc.

Staff in this room follow the pre birth to three and curriculum for excellence documents.

Garden area

Both nurseries have large garden areas - these are available to the children at all times, they allow for the children to get outside in a secure and safe environment. We have a substantial range of outdoor toys and activities as well as carrying on indoor activities out in the fresh air if weather permits.

Other information

Each child who attends the nursery will have a learning journey, this is a record of your child's development through their time at nursery. Parents can contribute to this and it is available in the child's room to look at any time you wish

Yearly reports will go out at the end of May every year detailing your childs progress as well as termly evaluations, this is followed up by a parents evening where you will have the chance to meet with your childs key worker and discuss their progress.

Parents are given a policy disc with all the nursery policies on them so that they can look at these at home as required.

Parents are welcome to arrange settling in visits for their child free of charge and are also welcome to arrange stay and play days to see how their child spends their day.

All children are encouraged to display good oral hygiene, toothbrushes and toothpaste are provided for all children from the NHS and toothbrushing takes place after snack or lunch.
