Jane Lawrence Music

Violinist and pianist, teaching all ages and performing in Lancaster and the North of England, specialising in Classical, Folk, World and Traditional music.

Jane is a very talented violinist, pianist, teacher and ensemble leader, known for playing in the Lancaster trio, Tabuka and 7-piece Balkan /Klezmer band The Balkanics. She has been playing music since she was around 5 years old, and studied Music and French at Goldsmiths, where she also got her MMus in Ethnomusicology. Described as one audience member watching her perform alongside the Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, "Jane makes music that is both passionate and lyrical, tender and strong, sad and joyful" ( Malcolm Allum, Didsbury Arts Festival)

She also teaches piano and violin and runs folk music ensembles in schools (Salt Pie Lane at QES) and music centres as well as at home.
