Jazz At The Blue Lamp

About Jazz At The Blue Lamp

"Jazz at the BlueLamp" happens every Thursday (in season) at the BlueLamp pub in the Gallowgate in Aberdeen. See our events page for upcoming concerts.

Jazz At The Blue Lamp Description

Our organisation has been formed by jazz fans to ensure their music continues to be heard in their favourite venue, Aberdeen’s Blue Lamp. Jazz Scotland who are behind the Aberdeen Jazz Festival are helping the new group with their plans by offering use of their equipment and marketing expertise. Neil Gibbons, a director of Jazz Scotland and one of the new group said “We are really excited by this new development. Jazz Scotland was unable to put on regular jazz concerts because of a lack of funding, but this new voluntary group will allow regular jazz from Scottish and international musicians to continue in the Blue Lamp. The ‘Lamp is considered by many jazz visitors and musicians to be one of the best venues in the UK for listening to jazz music so it is great that we can put on regular concerts again. The plan is to have three full programs of Jazz music at the Lamp each year, Autumn, Winter & Spring.
Two years in and with some help from Creative Scotland we are going from strength to strength.
