This happened at one of my weddings in 1992 in a church in Tamworth. The church cat virtually came to every wedding - and made ‘an appearance’. Maybe was a Vicar in a past life......

I was pleased to be the guest speaker this morning at The Barchester Care Home in Lichfield. We shared memories of weddings past, customs and traditions and hearing stories of some of my 2000 weddings that I have organised and planned over the past 30 years.

I once choreographed a dance down the aisle - it took forever!......

In #i weekend newspaper today - Eve Paterson and her 6 Bridesmaids had a ‘power pose’ photograph taken by Toby Mitchell - with hands in their pockets demonstrating that dresses can be practical (as the bridesmaids stored their snacks in them). Each dress was different - and the Brides gowns’ pockets were made from a piece of fabric from her Mother’s wedding gown.

I’m now ‘warming’ towards this new trend of the bridesmaids wearing trouser suits / pants in various colours. Practical - yes I suppose so. Flattering - sometimes, but is it ‘wedding’?

This is why I never go dress shopping with Brides.....!

Winter weddings are a challenge when snow and bad weather have to be planned for. This was a beautiful wedding and the bride wore sparkly wellies!

And it’s the year of the wedding! And there we have it - Christmas and New Year are over, and the world tips on its axis and the year begins with a phone call, a wedding fair, a booking and loads of emails! It doesn’t matter if the wedding is in March or October- it’s THIS year - and oh my - the Brides are up and at it! So, here’s to my 34th year of planning weddings, organising, booking, meeting and loving every minute of......still!
