We participated in a whiskey tasting after seeing an advertisement on Groupon. I have visited several whiskey distilleries around Scotland and do quite enjoy whiskey and drink it regularly. From that basis I was initially a bit skeptical of what I would gain from another whiskey tasting but was very very impressed by this experience. We were in a small group, only 3 of us in total, and were led through a tasting intermixed with the history of whiskey and the process of making it. Even having had several tours before I found this very informative and enjoyable. The guide was enthusiastic and did very well to blend the tasting with the history and background of whiskey in general, something you don’t usually get from distilleries who want to focus on their own product and process. The tasting itself was done blind and in our case with 4 whiskeys from different whiskey regions (though there are several tasting options available). Admittedly I thought for an introduction like this we would be served fairly standard (i.e. boring!) whiskeys but was really really impressed by the offering, which included 4 I had actually never seen before and at least 1 very rare (and expensive!) bottle only for sale at this store. Overall we were very happy with the experience which far exceeded my expectations. It would be well suited to both beginners and more experienced whiskey drinkers and actually does very well to complement what you hear at whiskey distilleries. Highly recommended!

LOVED my whisky tasting at Jeffrey St! Firstly, they will host the tasting regardless of number of guests -- and I lucked out with being the ONLY guest on a Monday afternoon at 5pm, which resulted in my private whisky tasting with Joanna!

Joanna was very knowledgeable, she shared great details of the whisky distillation process, distinction between single malt/ grain, multi malt/grain and blended whisky. It was a pleasure learning and I left feeling more knowledgeable about Scotch and the many distilleries. I opted for the "Old and Rare" tasting, with 4 options ranging from 21 - 43 years old. It was such a treat and excellent value.

Hector, the owner was friendly and truly passionate about whisky. I love that he has a great relationship with bottlers and distilleries, and found many small-batch whisky at the store. Highly recommended!
