Jessops

They don't even deserve the 1 star. This is a follow up review post repair. The canon camera took over 6 weeks to be returned and they first of all posted it to the wrong address. Second of all, my sister received the camera and it was rammed in badly packed and guess what STILL BROKEN. They refuse to give us a refund, we have dealt with rude, unfriendly and liars throughout this horrific experience. I have never dealt with such awful customer services in my life. 6 weeks to return a camera with the exact same fault. NEVER EVER SHOP WITH JESSOPS!

This used to be a great place to go for information which lead me to buy a few products from this shop, but now the help and info is a lucky dip, a couple of the guys are still very helpful but there are a couple of guys who just aren't interested in even being friendly. Long story short, I was buying a camera at £850 Nikon D7200, I had planned on buying two memory cards, Jessops are crazy expensive for memory cards but I asked if we could get a deal on the cards since I was spending as much on a Camera, the salesman in a red Canon shirt just turns dry a looks through me and acts like I'd shot his dog, "if you can find the same product in a BRICK AND MORTOR shop we will price match it" and then just stops talking. To be fair, it was me looking for a deal and I accept that maybe that's just not how shops are these days, but knocking a tenner off a bill over £900 wasn't very unreasonable, but I must be wrong. Anyway, I went to a camera shop in Merchant City and the gentleman in there was a fountain of knowledge, happy to chat, showed me a few ideas for future purchases with zero pressure to buy and I just bought the camera and memory cards there for cheaper than Jessops. As I said at the start, this shop used to be good, expensive but I don't mind spending money in exchange for expertise and a friendly chat, that's clearly gone now. It may be a management thing, it may just be unhelpful staff, but they've lost a customer now.

Not the most knowledgeable staff. Overpriced goods. If you have a problem with anything you can have trouble trying to get your money back.
I would buy anywhere else first. But sometimes they have a sale and just might have something in stock.

Visited on Monday and Tuesday this week looking to buy a new camera. Had done some research on-line but frankly was bamboozled by the sheer volume of technical info on new cameras, most of which I did not understand and was fairly certain I would not need.Was served by a very helpful assistant called Adam who spent endless time explaining and demonstrating the type of camera I thought I wanted. I then went off for a think and to see what else was on offer elsewhere returning later to Jessops having had a complete rethink. Adam then spent a similar period going over another type of camera. I left for an overnight mull-over. Tuesday morning I made the purchase Adam even helping with the footery start up bits.
An excellent camera buying experience and I am very happy with my choice..

Visited Jessop's Buchanan St. today to buy a new lens. I was served by 'Kenny' who was most helpful and friendly. I had spoken to him on the 'phone before going to the shop to make sure they had the lens I wanted, in stock. Also he sorted out a price for the lens I was trading in. Excellent service, very efficient, many thanks.

Having a store like this near by is brilliant. Very friendly staff, great product range. Always happy to order things into store for you, or keep things by for you.

You can get things at little cheaper online at times, but I prefer the peace of mind of shopping here. I can pick up major equipment purchases in person, and I have some where to go if there is any problems.

I recently visited the Glasgow store and they seem to of got rid of the one person I found useful. Id come in and talk to a tall guy about video on my Video cameras (Sony/Panasonic) and he knew his stuff. Didn't seem intent on stuffing products down my throat and actually listen to what I wanted. Him and the Panasonic guy would talk me through functions and new tech etc just like chatting to a friend. Which Is why I'd buy from the guy everytime. The last few times I've been here he'd been gone and I found out he left. Now there are loads of kids Trying to get sales pushing products on me that I don't need. Bring back the knowledgeable employees. Lost a valued customer today

A good selection of cameras and accessories. Staff very helpful, but time spent by staff attempting to sell cover and add ons was a bit excessive.
