About John G. Sharp - Medical Herbalist

John G. Sharp - Medical Herbalist Description

Herbal Medicine is the most widely used form of medicine in the World today after countless millennia of use. It is based on preparations from Nature´s vast array of medicinal plants. This is not ‘alternative’ medicine in any sense at all having stood the test of time unlike many so-called ‘conventional’ medicines which have not even been tested for one single generation.

It is still used as mainstream medicine in many parts of the World and is highly respected in, for example, the German-speaking countries where medical practitioners are trained and very familiar with its use and where 50% of their prescriptions are Herbal.

This is perhaps not surprising as Herbal Medicine is acknowledged as being a SAFE, extremely efficient and reliable treatment for the vast majority of disorders which afflict us all.

However, in order to remain completely safe, the UK government has recently introduced new criteria in which herbal preparations, previously available over the counter to those members of the public dissatisfied with mainstream medicine, now have to be licensed and many remedies have been restricted to use only by registered Medical Herbalists who can apply them in an appropriate, judicious and safe manner.

In this respect, John is a local, fully qualified, Medical Herbalist having originally trained for four years and with over 10 years local practice. He is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and also of the prestigious College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy; many members of which are also GPs who have decided to incorporate Herbal Medicine into their repertoire.

In addition, John has successfully completed a 4 year post-graduate training course for medical practitioners in Anthroposophic Medicine, probably the most advanced form of, truly, Holistic Medicine as originally advanced in the 1920´s by Rudolf Steiner. Whilst little known in the UK, this Medicine, which fully recognises the body : mind : soul aspects of Man, is practiced particularly in Europe by highly enlightened Medical Practitioners with , for example, specialist clinics for the treatment of serious disorders such as cancer using natural remedies and non-invasive therapies.

Whatever, your health problem might be, John will take all the time necessary to empathise with and fully assess your problems as an individual and seek out the best approach to coax you gently and effectively back to health.

The therapy would either take the form of Herbal Remedies such as inexpensive tinctures, teas, tablets or creams specifically for yourself or, where appropriate, would be supported by his highly qualified and effective colleagues within the Stirling practice or even at home.
