John Lewis

I bought two winter coats from John Lewis at the end of September and wore the first one almost right away, very pleased with fit and comfort the second one I wore for the first time just recently and it was not a good fit at all, the lining crept up on the inside of the coat which made it uncomfortable. I took this coat back and told the sales assistant I no longer had my receipt, I was given a gift card ( the modern day version of a credit note) which was justifiable as I didn't have the receipt any more. Was pleased with how I was fairly treated and there was no hassle from the store to give me this gift card.

I like John Lewis store on Glasgow but I have an issue with The Place to Eat. Something has changed. Is it now run by a contracted compan ? No warm food at 3pm, very limited selection of , I'm sorry to say, poor quality sandwiches, and poor coffee. I really don't want to be negative but I have memories of enjoying decent food and coffee at John Lewis. There is an opportunity here to serve good quality coffee abd food if you don't want to go to Costa or Starbucks. Honestly I'm trying to be helpful.

Paid £1199.- up front, in cash, for a Miele washing machine, which wasn't in stock, as mine had broken down and they had it for 20% off special offer.

Was charged £25 for delivery/uplift even though this would have free if I had ordered online.

Was told the machine would be delivered to my address within 2 working days of it coming into stock and that a member of staff would contact me to arrange delivery as soon as it arrived in store.

Called a few days later for an update and told it would be in the following day.

The following day came and went and not a peep from John Lewis and the next day waited until lunchtime before calling them myself.

Was told the machine was now in but the earliest they could deliver was 5 days later!....Eh, what happened to the promised "within 2 days" I was spun when buying?

Not best pleased with John Lewis and will think twice before ordering anything from them again.

Incredibly poor after sales service!!! Off to the launderette now!!!

Was in the main restaurant with a friend.It was her birthday so bought champagne. I was giveaway chilled one from the fridge and an ice bucket and complimentary cake for her. Lovely

Just purchased new brassiere. Staff member was very helpful. Measured me and tried on ones to fit. Ended up walking out with it on. Delighted with it. Even if it was bit more expensive. I have proper support.

Old and not modernised like other John Lewis locations I've been in (especially compared to the one in Edinbugh). Disgusting toilets. Great staff, though.

Attended to have a bra fitting today. I was just a walk-in but the staff member was only too happy to help. The member of staff was fantastic & really helpful. Didn't try to sell me the bras I was trying & was more concerned that the bra be the perfect fit. I couldn't have asked for a better service. Thank you.

I cannot praise the service I received highly enough. I had my new fridge freezer delivered a couple of weeks ago. Nothing was too much trouble for the central call centre or for the local delivery team in Glasgow. It needed the doors turned and to be carried up two and a half flights of stairs to our flat . Then the old one carried away. Two very polite gentlemen delivered [they had already re-hung the doors at the depot], fitted it where it had to go and then took the old one away. No fuss, no moans & groans - just good service. The fact that it was substantially marked down in price was a bonus. This is a much better piece of kitchen hardware than I ever thought I would have! I am absolutely delighted!

Been shopping for years at John Lewis for my electronics. Today they accepted the return of an item I bought 6 ish months ago and couldn't find my receipt for. Fantastic customer service. Fantastic staff.
