John Miller Limited Description
John Miller Limited was originally founded in 1979 in Dumfries and was known as John Miller Transport. The original business was sold to Securicor in 1997 and John remained with them until 2000, when the current John Miller Limited was formed initially hauling round timber.
Having its first office in Dumfries, with the emerging growth of the local timber industries around South Scotland and North England an opportunity arose to purchase Jos Millican Transport in 2002. This provided the facilities to move into general haulage and relocate to Sandysike, nr Carlisle. In February 2012 a new purpose built depot for the general haulage operation was opened, ideally located just off Jct 17 of the M74 at Lockerbie. Our Longtown depot remains in service predominantly dedicated to a major customer and as a part of our round timber haulage operations. The combination of good customers, excellent location, and a professional committed staff has enabled the business to flourish. John has always based his business on providing quality services with strong customer relations.
As the General Haulage business has matured we have found success in concentrating on the haulage of full loads throughout the UK and Ireland, this business is run by Director Davie Carson and his team from our Lockerbie depot.

We are looking to recruit Class 1 HGV drivers based in Lockerbie, Longtown and Stoke on Trent for our General Haulage Division.
The role is Tramping Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday morning running ins, or Sunday afternoon running away, mainly flatbed work serving the construction industry carrying steel, timber, bricks, logs etc.
