About K9 Aquafit Ltd

Canine (and small animal) Hydrotherapy for fitness, health, rehabilitation and fun. All dogs catered for in our purpose built facility

K9 Aquafit Ltd Description

What happens in your session with K9 Aquafit Ltd?

Every dog is an individual and will be treated as such with the utmost care and attention to the dogs medical needs and also catering to their preferences as much as possible in relation to toys and motivation. We will aim to ensure that every dog gets the best possible experience from their hydrotherapy sessions and even initially reluctant swimmers will come to look forward to their treatments.

What Do Our Treatments include?

1. Recording full details of your dog, plus contact details of yourself and your Veterinary Surgeon
2. General visual health check appraisal and discussion about any recent changes
3. Showering on arrival to remove loose coat hair and any excess body dirt
4. All dogs will be fitted with the correct size life jacket / buoyancy aid. Our ‘floatcoats’ are specially designed to allow the best possible support to your dog and the greatest range of movement.
5. A Hydrotherapy swimming session with personal 1-2-1 qualified Hydrotherapist assistance, in the water and supporting the dog throughout the treatment as much or as little as they need.
6. Showering the dog when it comes out of the pool with clean, fresh warm water to remove any excess pool water.
7. Drying your dog, dogs are towel dried with their own towels (please bring one with you) and then with our warming blast dryer. (assuming your dog is happy to have the dryer used on them) It is not possible to fully dry all dogs, particularly those with thick double coats. We also recommend that you dry dogs thoroughly when you get home and if possible bring a drying coat with you to travel them home in, especially in cold weather.
8. Provide you verbally with an up to date appraisal of condition and progress.
9. Provide advice as to treatment and handling required following your dogs hydrotherapy session.
10. Recording details in your dogs personal files and if necessary forwarding any changes to your Veterinary Surgeon.

How much does it Cost?

Initial consultation and first hydrotherapy session: £40.
Your first session will take longer as we like to get to know you and your dog, discussing any major issues, medical background, your dogs likes and dislikes, what you hope to achieve during the sessions and do a health check to ensure that your dog is ready to undergo treatment at that time. Should it be suitable we will then take them into the pool for their first hydrotherapy session.

Regular appointments are charged at £27. 50 per session which is payable on arrival.

A 10 session program is also offered, this is payable in advance at £250. 00.
