Karate Glasgow

From beginner to black belt under guidance of Japan trained instructors. Karate club based at St. Ninians High School, Giffnock catering for 3 years +

Karate Kids [Age 3-6]
These classes are designed as an introduction to traditional Japanese Karate, The formative years in any sport are very important and we are aware of that, providing a fun, energetic class whilst gently introducing the children to respectful behaviour and etiquette. We will work on building their confidence and developing their co-ordination skills.

Junior [Age 7-12]
Discipline and respectful behaviour ia a key area for us. We believe it strengthens their mentality and develops a strong character, improving their attitude to learning, school education and studies. We also teach effective self defence and counter techniques as part of their programme.


Youths: We have some fantastic youths, many of whom are in the national squad; some of whom have already represented Scotland in various World Championships from Japan to Morocco. As well as having some of Scotland’s top young fighters we have been Scottish National Kata champions for the past decade.

Adults: This section includes self defence for both men and women. This class appeals to those who are more interested in traditional training with a strong emphasis on self improvement, with health and self confidence benefits very evident.
Sport Karate

We have Scottish, British and Commonwealth Karate Federation champions in our club and supply the national team with some of its top fighters. I also believe the current crop of kids I have are the best I have worked with in over a decade.
