Karlys Sweet-Peas Childminding. Dundee/Angus Area Description

Sweet-Peas childminding is a dedicated service that provides parents with the best in flexible reliable child care from Birth -12 years. As a mum to 3 beautiful children, I know the struggle of locating top quality childcare that can care for my child’s needs as an individual, be flexible with times and also have a warm family feel. This is what led me to become a childminder.

I am registered with Scotland care inspectorate, have health and hygiene certificates, children and babies first aid training, all risk assessments are done, I also have a seven-seat 4x4 which I use for lovely days out and collection or drop off if required.

What we provide.
Every child has their own personality and I help to develop that, through a range of activities in the dedicated playroom like dancing and dress up to bring on their confidence, numbers letters shape and colour fun to build learning skills, messy play, baking and painting to encourage their creative imaginations, and visits out to play areas to encourage healthy social interactions, not forgetting our outdoor play to let the children enjoy the fresh outdoors and its beauty.
I provide fresh home cooked meals for the children in my care over breakfast and lunch time with a range of healthy snacks throughout the day these vary on a day to day basis to ensure they can experience and sample a wide range of different tastes and texture they have their own children’s dining table to encourage them to develop nice table manners.
Updates from your child’s time with me is extremely important to you there for All full-time children will have their own development folder which will be updated with pictures, progress reports and artwork, these will be able to view at any time, alongside this you will receive daily activity sheets and we also have use baby days webpage that parents can get access to, on here you can quickly and easily view your child’s updates from any PC.

During school holidays we like to take trips further afield to St Andrews, Stone haven, Blair Drummond or Cinema trips I like to make sure all the children’s time is filled with memories that will stay with them throughout their time (such trips are discussed with parents in advance).

***Aiming to always provide a flexible service for the parents, my hours of work are 7. 30am-5. 30pm, I am happy to open earlier, stay later and also weekends to help if needed, there would be a small additional fee would be applied***

Since day 1, Karly has been nothing but helpful, Rory has been with Karly for 6 months now and just received his 6 month report where the difference between then and now is night and day.

He has become very confident in himself over this time and Karly has spent the time to Rory's weaknesses and helped him come out and overcome these weaknesses, he goes in and comes out always happy and every time i pull up to the house, he gets excited for what activities he will be doing.

To see the pictures of the time Rory has been there, they just tell you he is having a great time and he has met some good friends there.

I have nothing but good reviews and all the thanks to Karly for making my little one become more of himself as a mischievous little boy he is lol

My son has been attending Karly's Sweet Peas since August and absolutely loves it. When we arrive in the morning he runs in and starts playing immediately.

Karly provides a real home from home with interesting and creative activities for the children. She's very keen to take on board parental suggestions and ideas and as an experienced parent herself is very reassuring to a first timer. The mindees are welcomed by the entire family, including the incredibly friendly family dog.

She provides a healthy selection of foods for the children to try and involves them in meal preparation and baking. My son particularly loves baking.

She follows each child's development using national guidelines, each child has a folder detailing their progress and next steps. She uses these to identify skills each child needs to work on and provides activities based on their needs and interests.

She provides a private parent Facebook group photos of what activities the children have been doing each week and a daily information sheet to allow smooth communication with home.

I was nervous about returning to work after maternity leave but leaving my son with Karly has made me feel considerably less guilty and I know that he's in safe and capable hands.
