We are Hiring
The KDW Doggy care assistant will be responsible for the supervision, control and management of our daycare dogs and ensuring the safety of the playgroup. You will also be responsible for the cleaning duties around our centre as required. You must be able to work as part of a team. This is a tough job and you will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
... Primary Duties
1. Dog Management
• Interact with the dogs in our playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in the assigned group. • Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in your care. • Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management. • Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management. • Use proper dog introduction procedures. • Use appropriate praise and dog correction methods. • Ensure you know all the dogs in your playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management. • Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns. • For all the dogs in your playgroup, report any unusual behaviour, or eliminations and injuries to management immediately. • Keep a working phone on at all times when managing dogs. Request back-up coverage prior to leaving the playgroup. • Complete dog incident reports timely when required. If you are not sure whether a report is required check with management.
2. Cleaning Duties
• Complete general cleaning duties as posted or assigned • Scoop dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed • Removing rubbish from bins daily • Disinfect outside areas • Cleaning water bowls, kongs, and other toys
3. Office Duties
• Greeting customers and bringing dogs into playroom • Handling payments • Tracking dog attendance as needed • Answering phones as needed • Other general office duties as needed
Minimum Experience, Skills, Certification or Academic Background Required
• Good oral communication skills • Previous work experience demonstrating dependability • Previous experience providing animal care (personal or job related) • Self motivated, independent worker • Proven ability to follow instructions and learn new things • Ability to work in a team environment • Demonstrated flexibility and proven coping skills

Here at KDW we are completely dedicated to the welfare of all the Dogs in our care and only use the most up-to-date, kind, fair and reward based methods throughout our centre.
Set on the outskirts of Kelty, in a semi rural, enviable position, we have approx 25 acres of land, used solely for the training, exercise and entertainment of Dogs.

Who are we looking for?
Someone who has experience of caring for Dogs and a natural love of Dogs. Someone who has strong communication skills. A positive and enthusiastic attitude. Someone who is conscientious and reliable. A caring and professional approach who is able to converse with clients and inspire trust and confidence Someone who is self motivted Physically fit and healthy - this role requires a high degree of activity Someone who is fast on their feet and quick to act Someone with bags of common sense
Responsibilities and Duties
With new legislation coming into force in October we need someone who can plan, prepare and deliver a training program for the younger dogs who attend our facility
You will need to keep a record of each Dogs development and progression on a daily basis
You will need to show and discuss any Dogs new skills to Pet Parents as often as required
You will also be required to oversee a staff training program
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants MUST have either a Dog Training or Dog Behaviour qualification, or be working towards accreditation, preferably with the IMDT or ADPT
A Canine First Aid certificate is essential

my daughter Rachel and son in law Rob left Scoob the black lab here for a half day and couldn't of asked for a better place or nicer people. Would defintely recommend and be back. Thank you and look forward to seeing pictures of him having a blast! 😃👍x x

Zeusy has been at kelty doggie daycare for a holiday this week I know he is well looked after at Debbie’s and would highly recommend ��� Zeusy goes to daycare twice a week aswell and has done for a year and a half now and absolutely loves it thank you all so much from Zeusy and his mummy �

Visited Debbie and her beautiful dogs and facilities today. What a fabulous paradise for dogs. I am so fussy with my dogs but the fun and luxury Debbie offers is top of the range and I would be more than happy to leave them here. Truly inspiring and amazing - any dog to enjoy a day here is very lucky indeed! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the girls will no longer be staying with you because we've moved back down south. I just want to say thank you so much for looking after the girls, they loved coming to you and I'm sure they'll miss their little breaks!! Our boy Blaze has been going to KDW since he was 6 months old, he is now over 3. Since the first day we met Debbie and Mark ( and now crew) we couldn't have been made felt more welcome with our boy.

The level of professionalism and genuine care for the dogs is immediately obvious.

Blaze still goes once a week to keep up with his socialisation skilss, manners and most of all to have FUN.

He also stays on a home from home boarding basis when we are on holiday and I can honestly say this is the only establishment that I can say when i go on holiday I can actually believe my dog is in safe hands.

Sorry for the long winded report, however if you do really love your dog you'll have read this far and already have made the right decision...KDW for the pup win!!

Our 7 month old puppy had his first holiday here and I have no doubt loved every minute. Debbie and the team kept us up to date with lots pictures to see how he was doing. What a fantastic service, Thank you.

Only my dogs second week with KDW but she is loving it already. Debbie and Ash clearly have a passion for dogs and I feel safe if the knowledge they are looking after my old girl. I would happly recomend this service to anyone. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

My 4 month old puppy, Louis has been going to KDW daycare for 3 weeks now. He’s an anxious puppy and Debbie and the team have been amazing and very supportive settling him in. KDW truly care about the dogs they look after and Louis loves going to daycare now and comes back a tired, but happy puppy. I can’t recommend KDW enough!

Mac has been going to KDW daycare since April this year & has also been for overnight boarding. I cannot recommend highly enough. Debbie, Mark & staff are fantastic & Mac thinks it's its second home, he can't wait to get in and play. Very well run facility & nothing is too much trouble to make sure the dogs are well cared for & happy. Great to feel relaxed about leaving my boy there. First class.

I was very nervous about leaving my rescue doberman for the first time. I have to say Debbie and her team are amazing. Debbie's experienced with rescues and knowledge of dogs is unbelievable. She provided updates on how my lad was doing as well as photography. Lots of forrest to run free in with lots of doggy pals. This is the Rolls Royce of Pet Services. So glad I found this place and I cannot recommend her and the team of KDW highly enough. Thanks a million x

I have been using KDW for close to a year as the service Debbie provides is second to none. My dogs are picked up and dropped off a couple of days a week when I have work commitments, and I love seeing the photos of what they've been up to (and with whom!) each evening. With acres of private land, including a lovely river-side woodland walk, we know our dogs are safe and well supervised while they are exercised, and socialised in a balanced group.

My dogs have also boarded with KDW, and are treated just like part of the family - a true home from home.

Fantastic! Debbie took the time to get to know my girls and they both had a brilliant time out with the rest of the gang. Very professional with the invoice system and an absolute delight seeing what fun they've had with the Facebook pictures. Thank you for taking the extra time to di this. Would thoroughly recommend Kelty Doggy Walks.

Excellent Reliable Dog Walking Service

I have never found a better service for walking dogs.

It is reliable, honest and very reasonably priced. It is especially useful for those at work, or needing help to provide enough exercise for their dog. My two boys are picked up and delivered back happy, tired and clean, despite the recent awful weather. Magic indeed!

They are both very excited when Debbie arrives at the door.

She quickly got to know my dogs, and is clearly interested in them. A big plus is that photos are taken of the dogs on their walk which I find very interesting but also reassuring. All in all I would recommend this service very highly.

Big thank you to Debbie and the team at KDW and day care for caring for William, Kate, cats and hens. Very well looked after one and all. William has a complicated medicine requirement but all was handled efficiently. Based in kelty when I got my new puppy Baxter Kerr I decided he need a place to go two half’s days a week. I have been amazed at how much my puppy enjoys going.
