Kebab Mahal

As far as my opinion matters this is the best place for asian food lovers. Thou the seating arrangements are of a bit concern, but the food you get here in KABAB MAHAL is extremely of high quality in Edinburgh. I have been looking for this type of food since my arrival on a visit and most probably spent over £1000 in ten days time trying different asian restaurants. Finally success, as they say nothing succeeds like success. I am extremely thankful to my daughters who advised me to give it a try before giving up our serch for true Pakistani food. The administration/management deserves salute for providing food unmatched in the capital city of Scotland. Haji sb owner of the business gives you personalised service and is always inquiring from the customers about satisfaction and pleasure. I would recommend everyone visiting and looking for the food of Pakistani taste in Edinburgh must visit this place once before heading back home to Pakistan.

Excellent Indian food (and of course kebabs) in a friendly cafe type setting that is a favourite of performers in the Fringe. Very tasty food in big portions with quick service at really competitive prices. Takeaways is available (which they won awards for!).

An excellent kebab shop with great lamb and chicken curries as well as the usual kebabs.

Kebab Mahal doesn't look great, in fact the decor is pretty basic but this is irrelevant because the food is great, the people are really friendly and the prices low.

Can't really go wrong here.

This is a great example of "a hole in the wall" type of restaurant. It looks basic to the eye, but the food is great.

Don't listen to all the reviews - this place is awful. As if first impressions were bad enough (it feels like going back into stone age or 1900s India). It is an absolutely disgusting restaurant from the inside - I can't bare even being inside. I have lived in an Arab country and even this can't compare. The tables were so dirty as if they haven't been cleaned in years. The food is not good value, I repeat NOT CHEAP and is NOT worth it (they put so little meat and try to overemphasise the salad to save money). Do not go here. It is authentic but just a rip off.

Foul! We were served donner meat that smelt past it's expiry date. Meat was dry and tough which suggests it had been out a long time. The sauces are horrible - the chilli sauce is not actual spicy chilli but some red rubbish. Also the service was exceptionally slow and the staff were unwelcoming. Had to throw away the food - massive waste of time and money.

Small place, great halal Pakistani food. Muslims and non—muslims seem to like it. I love it. Quick service. Seems to have almost all the main dishes in the menu.

Wonderful Indian food for cheap price. Good vegan options.

Cheap and quality food! Very student friendly place. Definitely try their Kebabs and biryani.
