Kelty And District Loving Hands

A group for people who love to knit, crochet or sew & want a useful outlet for their work. We supply a wide variety of handicrafts to several charities

Loving Hands is an organisation which was founded in June 2007 & the first group was established in Kelty in August 2007. Since then the organisation has grown immensely with members from around the world joining the Loving Hands website. Groups are now established in many areas around the UK & can be found on the main website: - www. lovinghands.org. uk
Currently the Kelty group supports the following charities: -
The Gloag Foundation based in Perth. We supply a range of clothing items for prem babies and for infants & children up to the age of 10; blankets & toiletries for the children's home; toiletries & sanitary products for ladies undergoing surgery, along with jewellery & nail varnish to boost their self confidence & knitted squares for their Empowerment programme.
Mission to Seafarers - we provide warm hats for male & female crews of ships docking in Scottish ports.
SiMBA & FifeSands. These 2 charities provide memory boxes for bereaved families who have lost a baby through neonatal death or stillbirth. We make the knitted items that go into these boxes & also provide small items to Special Care Baby Units.
The National Breastfeeding Network. We supply this organisation with knitted boobs which are used to teach breastfeeding techniques in antenatal & postnatal clinics.
Blysthwood Care receive hats, scarves, mitts & gloves for their shoe box appeal.
Scottish SPCA - require blankets & dog coats which we take in to our local HQ.
If we receive local or national appeals for urgent help we do our best to provide what is needed.
