Today our Summer Holiday Programme workshop is Instant Art. Try on costumes and pose for a portrait or use props to create a still life! 1.30-4pm, FREE, for ages 7+, no booking required.

Gesso Panels and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh
Saturday 4th August, 11am - 4pm, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. £25
Spend a day with artists Jenny and Dai Vaughan and learn about the life and work of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.
... You will see a short film of how gesso panels are created right from the beginning to the final stage and hear about how Margaret, and her sister Francis, grew up and became such brilliant and innovative artists.
There will also be an opportunity for everyone to work with gesso, on specially prepared boards.

During 2018 Glasgow Museums have been delighted to work in partnership with West College Scotland.
Students from the Graphic Design department have collaborated with Glasgow Museums Digital & New Media team to create animated social media content for the exhibition: ‘Charles Rennie Mackintosh - Making The Glasgow Style’. Students have also designed posters exploring the ‘Top Ten Highlights’ of Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum.
In both projects students have demonstrated a gr...eat understanding of the outlined brief and produced some excellent designs.
During July we will be featuring a selection of these works.
