Morning everyone, we are sorry but we are unable to open the railway today due to a shortage of volunteers. Trains should be running again tomorrow from 11am - 4pm weather permitting.

NEWS UPDATE
Hello everyone, we'd just like to thank those who came out today to support the railway, we really could do with more days like it!
Anyway, folk have been asking if we are open tomorrow for the "bank holiday" and the answer is no we won't be, apologies. The railway is however open at weekends 11AM - 4PM weather permitting and will be until the end of September.
... Please make sure you come and have a ride on the railway before you run out of time this year! Only 5 weekends left so don't miss out!
For the local people only. When was the last time you had a stroll down the West Links with your family and came for a hurl on the train or bus or fire engine? Think about it carefully, it really isn't difficult and really would help us out a lot!

We are pleased to say that we had a fantastic time yesterday at the Dundee Museum of Transport with our miniature bus at their 'Bus and Coach Day'.
Lots of rides were had with happy smiley faces all round and we don't just mean the kids! ūüėā

Morning everyone!
The exciting news for today is that 'Firefly' our real live steam engine will be out today from about 12pm! Children absolutely love to see the steam engine so to make sure that you don't miss out come on down for a ride behind her today!
The weather is absolutely glorious in Arbroath so it'll be t-shirts and sunglasses and also please remember to put your sun cream on!
... Anyway, our volunteers at KMR would love to see you and your families/friends at the railway today so please don't miss this amazing chance to see 'Firefly' in steam!

Hello everyone, just a wee not to say that sadly we won't be open today due to the foul weather. Hopefully we'll be open tomorrow if the weather is better!

NEWS UPDATE
We at Kerr's Miniature Railway are very pleased and excited to announce that our fire engine will soon be off to 'Emergency One' who will be restoring and bringing our old girl up to 21st century fire and rescue standards. She will be fitted out with the latest kit and technology including cutting gear, breathing equipment and blue lights and sirens.
This is due to a shortage of fire engines within Scotland so when the 'Scottish Fire and Rescue Service' approached... us with the request to borrow her and as she wasn't being used all that often in West Links Park we just couldn't refuse!
Once overhauled, our fire engine will be based at 'Arbroath Fire Station' and will be on call to attend any 999 emergency calls in the area! The firefighters at the station just can't wait to get to use her!

Hello everyone!
Just a wee note to say that we had a fantastic first day of the season yesterday and it looks like today is going to be another cracker! The sun is shining but there's still a wee nip in the air so be sure to wrap up warm!
On another note, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have taken the decision to now only open at weekends. If this situation changes then we'll be sure to update you!

Tornado passing KMR!

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the lack of updates recently! We are now getting ready for opening in just over two weeks for our 2019 season! Are you excited?! We certainly are! ūüėĀ
The railway will be open daily from the 30th March for three weeks weather permitting from 11 - 4.
... As a side point, steam locomotive 'Tornado' (pictured below) will be passing through Arbroath tomorrow at around 13:30 and again at around 18:50. Why not pop down to one of the bridges and wave to the driver...who knows, you might even get a toot from the whistle back!

Hello folks, just a quick word to say that today is the last running day of the year! It's been a tough year for us with numbers at an all time low but we would like to thank our regular customers for continuing to come along and support us during this difficult time.
Anyway, we hope to see as many of you as possible down at the railway today to end our season on a high! Please tell all your friends and family to come out and enjoy this wonderful historic attraction and in the sunshine too! Trains will be running from 11-4 weather permitting.

We'd just like to thank everyone that's visited KMR this summer during our daily operating period. That's the railway now back to opening weekends only 11-4 weather permitting.
The passenger numbers did pick up half way through the local school holidays thanks to some great publicity and support from our followers and friends of the railway, however, this seems to have been short lived and once again numbers are dwindling.
... We only have the weekends in August and September left before we shut for the season (we may also operate during the tattie holidays if there is the demand and weather for it) so please please please make sure that you make the most of the railway being open and make sure you tell all your friends and family so that one no-one is dissapointed and two we end our season on a high!

On another note we thought we'd share a historic photo of the railway from the early days. The locomotive featured is called 'Gladstone' with Matthew Kerr Snr driving and the carriages were for first class ticket holders only...oh those were the days!
