Went to watch beauty and the beast pantomime last night we all had a good night out as a family. It was a fantastic pantomime. Can't wait to watch sleeping beauty next year xx

User

Well what an interesting night it was. I'm looking forward to the November event. Plenty of nice people and dancing all night sweet soul music.

User

We saw dick Whittington pantomine as a family in December 2016. Absolutely brilliant! We live in London, and have traditionally seen pantomine in London theatres, this venue is excellent- the seating, visibility of stage - top class. Production quality outstanding - lighting, costumes, quality of production, I was astounded. definitely value for money. Will hope to make this an annual visit on our holidays.

User

This is a jewel to be found in the heart of Blackburn. Excellent venue. Staff are polite and professional. Sound quality is great. My only niggle, it's far too hot. Would benefit from AC or windows opened.

User

This is a great venue, it's quite small so you really get an up close view of the artist that you have come to see. The staff are friendly and helpful ,the toilets are clean. I love coming to events here. On Saturday l went to see Jools Holland. Excellent musicianship great vocals from Ruby Turner and a guest appearance from Chris Dufford .The drummer was the best I had ever seen.

User

Lovely place lovely staff went to see Paul Weller he was brilliant and had a brilliant view from the balcony not far from the stage .only complain is there was no program of the show which would have been a great souvenir got a t-shirt but a program would have made the event complete but it didn't stop us enjoying the evening

If I had a pound for every review I write for concerts at KGH then I'd be, well, a £1 better off. The concert on 7 April was much anticipated mainly for my first live hearing of the Finzi Clarinet Concerto. What I rather love about the Classics at KGH is the lovely mix of the familiar with the unfamiliar. The Britten piece was not known to me at all and although I wouldn't normally go out of my way to listen to Britten, the Fantasia was a piece I could listen to again. The acoustics at KGH are wonderful and so is the general ambience of the place. Yes, some parts of it are a little 'tired' and so I need to point out that public funds are being pulled from all sorts of places including KGH and therefore upkeep can be a struggle so supporting KGH wouldn't go amiss. As for me, I'll be attending the Classics at KGH as there's nothing wrong with going along to hear your favourite pieces of music with the occasional unfamiliar piece thrown in.

User

I love the Classics at KGH. They are a beacon of light and warmth in the winter months. The last concert Friday, 7th April was magnificent. The Royal Northern Sinfonia performed moving and beautiful arrangements of several of my favourite pieces of English music. I have heard the Elgar's, lovely, Serenade for Strings, several times, but theirs was the best by far. Gerald Finzi's Clarinet Concerto is a favourite of mine and my first live hearing. I was transported by it. Loved the Lark Ascending and the Britten piece though I was unfamiliar with the latter. Thanks to the RNS and for BwDBC for a lovely evening of music. The programme deserves bigger audiences without doubt,

User

As a venue it was fabulous. People have said the seats were small, we sat on the balcony and had lots of space... And I am not small!

Will be looking what else is on!

Tip for parking... If you park at Feilding St... There is a pay machine on level 1 just by the ramp that goes to the barrier

User

A friendly welcoming theatre in the heart of Blackburn. I was there with a party of schoolchildren for a large concert and couldn't have asked for a better organised venue, or more helpful and friendly staff.

User

A fantastic place in the heart of Blackburn and had many family weddings there too!!

Would definitely recommend to ANYONE!!!

User

Went here to a You me at six concert, not usual thing you associate with King Georges hall but its my kind of thing! It is a lovely building, nice & small venue so got nice & close to the stage! Need to do more of these kind of concerts!

User

I enjoyed the UFO gig at the kings hall on a rainy frida y evening in July . A good mix of old songs and new. Favourites such as doctor doctor, shoot shoot and rock bottom being memorable. The crowd got going mid gig and had a few younger people in it which was good to see.

The band played well and the attendance was decent. Only issue was that Phil Moggs vocals where low and the sound man didn't turn them up despite the shouts of the crowd between songs .

User

Went to the Soul event last weekend ...music was great in both rooms but was very surprised to see that people were allowed to take their drinks onto the floor in the modern soul room ....drink was spilt all over the floor which in my opinion was very slippy and dangerous and by the end of the night was near impossible to dance on as it was so sticky my shoes were sticking to it !.....many places do not allow drinks on the dance floor for the above reasons.

User

The venue looks good with plenty of character and good views from all the seats to the stage. Big problem is the lack of bar and toilet facilities. We went to see Jon Richardson and the show was delayed as people were still in the bar. Queues for the loos during the interval were shocking. Shame really because otherwise it would be a lovely venue but it would definitely make me think twice about going back again.

User

The venue it's self & the facilities are fine but the seats are way too small and close together. Several other people have mentioned this yet nothing has changed. We were on the end of a row so we unclipped our chairs from the rest. If we hadn't done this I think we would have had to leave. This alone has put me off going back and is why KGH isn't getting 5 stars.

User

No draught Guinness in the bar. The concert facilities & acoustics in the hall are excellent but night life in the whole area around the venue has been subject to a contrived decline.

Shame on Blackburn Council. Yes, the truth hurts.

User

Beautiful building, majority of staff were lovely. Look up parking before you go as it's not well signposted. The guy at front of house was fantastic and printed my ticket out quickly, lovely banter at the fact I'd locked myself out of my email so couldn't do it myself, customer service above and beyond. The guys scanning the tickets were lovely too, smiling all the time.

Seating too close together for my liking but the hall has wonderful acoustics. Toilets need major refurbishments though- very dated, peeling paint everywhere, taps were not working properly; either a dribble regardless of turning taps or they wouldn't turn off. Dryers were older and slower than I am! They weren't well signposted either.

Bar service took a while but purely due to number of people there, service itself was extremely polite and well mannered.

Not sure if the people in the hi vis vests were stewards or actually SIA badged staff, but if they were the latter there's one of them that you need to sack immediately- extremely confrontational, in your face, unapproachable, unprofessional and down right rude. I couldn't see an SIA badge to note the number but I was thoroughly appalled at their attitude towards customers.
