Kingennie Fishings

Yesterday we began the process of applying Siltex to our Boathouse Pool. Siltex is a natural calcium carbonate that is added to the water to help decrease the organic and oxidisable matter in the pond, this is seen a reduction in the silt levels. It also helps settle waterborne solids, reduces the methane levels, counteracts the acidity in the water and adds essential calcium to the water for plants and wildlife.
This is just part of the ongoing work to make sure our ponds a...nd fish are in perfect condition for when you come and catch them.
The water is already clearing well and some good returns have been seen today. Mr Laffery took home 4 fish for 10lb and returned another handful.
There is space available all weekend, so come down and enjoy great fishing.

A huge thank you to everyone who came fishing today and helped support the fundraising efforts for the Scottish Loch style fly fishing team raising £420. There was also a big prize fund at stake that brought out the best from our anglers and produced some great catches. 38 anglers landed 270 fish with nobody blanking for a 7.1 average. There was over 17 big fish into double figures landed (several lost) including the biggest fish on site weighing over 20lb caught by Grant M...cCauley. 1st place and the £500 prize went to Paul Sharp with 17 fish. 2nd was Robert Gibson with 16. 3rd was Tyler Hay with 14 fish. Thanks again to everyone and look forward to seeing you through the winter for some great fishing. 🐟

What a FISH!!! 21lb 6oz of glorious Westmill Fish Farm trout! Weighed on the farm and put into our Burnside pool after a quick photo. Just one of several big fish put into the ponds today. With the decreasing weather temperatures the fishing has really been picking up recently. Come and enjoy fishing from £10 for 4 hours C+R.

A huge congratulations to Grant Osler, our Sports Manager, who was part of the Scottish Fly Fishing Team that won gold in the international angling competition at Llyn Brenig, last week. Grant also won the Brown Bowl for Scotland at the International, which is the highest accolade in the UK for any angler. It means he had the best individual catch out of the best anglers in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Well done Grant!

I have been a golf member at kingennie for a year and a half now. Staff are always friendly throughout the resort. Nice course to play and well kept by green keeping staff. Good practice facilities for short game and driving range. Only downside is the range bays are not covered and open to the elements.
