We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It had a wonderful country pub atmosphere with an historical background. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The bathroom was very pleasant, clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly particularly the Proprietor and Manager. We had a very enjoyable dinner and breakfast here, all reasonably priced. The WIFI was good and they provided parking at back. We will be back if we can and would highly recommend staying here.

Gem of a place, found this on my travels tonight! Food was great, nice big portions. The young man serving was fantastic so helpful and very polite to all the customers, a breath of fresh air to see genuine customer service. A little dated inside but very clean and I would highly recommend a visit, great value for money.
Very unpleasant service-staff very rude.my partner and I came in to have drinks while waiting for a train. We are both foreigners,my partner looks Asian. The waiter brought us our orders and asked us to pay. I asked if it is possible to pay at our leave,And the man's response was 's long as you come and pay'......I was completely shocked,so i asked the man 'what makes you think we will not pay???'ans his reply was 'some people just leave and dont pay' as he was walking away from the table we sat. I understand this man's concerns that some people leave without paying,but he could have been more polite to request me to pay ay the time of the order.Later I was observing the customs of that place: customers were paying when leaving even if they had only drinks.Moreover, we were the only foreign people who were in that hotel at that time,what left me with a strong feeling that foreigners are simply treated as some sort of suspects of 'thefts'.....

Good food lots of it. The breakfast was good and the rooms are clean. Nice atmosphere in the bar for evening drinks.

Very quiet Sunday afternoon drinks. Nice atmosphere but we moved on as no bar staff to be seen when we wanted to order our next drink
