When the English tongue we speak, Why is 'break' not rhymed with 'freak' ? Will you tell me why it's true, We say 'sew' but likewise 'few' ? And the maker of a verse, ... Cannot cap his 'horse' with 'worse' ? 'Beard' sounds not the same as 'heard', 'Cord' is different from 'word'; c - o - w is 'cow' but l - o - w is 'low'; 'Shoe' is never rhymed with 'foe'. My son, Jack, was struggling with close reading for National 5 English. We approached Andrew at Kip McGrath in March, with only a few weeks to the exam. The excellent tutoring cannot be faulted, as Jack achieved an 'A' for National 5 English. Thank you

My little girl is in primary 5, we were keen to work with the tutors at Kip to try and improve her confidence in her own ability and encourage her to have a go, even if she wasn't sure. From her recent parents evening report this seems to have worked! The teacher said there had been a marked difference in her willingness to try out new things covered in class.

Karen and the other tutors are very approachable and seem to genuinely want to see my daughter succeed. I am confident my child feels able to ask them anything she needs to. As with anything 'homework' related my daughter can be reluctant to get going, but when I pick her up after a session she always has a smile on her face and says "Mum, remind me next week that I always actually enjoy Kip when I'm there". I think that says it all.

Karen and Andrew are quick to respond to any queries and have been very accommodating if I've had to change a lesson for another day or if I've asked them to focus on a particular area of study.

The only thing which I would welcome is an occasional brief verbal update on what's been covered and what went well/ will be worked on going forward, especially for those of us whose children aren't too keen to chat about school stuff.

In short if your child needs a little bit of extra confidence in tackling things at school I'd recommend giving kip a go.

Lauren has been coming to Kip McGrath during the school holidays and has really enjoyed it. She has learned quite a number of new things in maths that she hadn't previously done before coming to the class and I'm really pleased about this. She has also improved in her reading at home and is eager to learn so thank you Karen. We will definitely be back in the future.

Karen and Andrew are very encouraging. My child has been attending for maths since February his maths has improved dramatically and he also enjoys the time he spends here too which is a huge bonus. the other children all look happy and the atmosphere is a relaxed learning environment. I can't believe my child's improvement and would recommend 100 percent
