Congratulations Louise Little who today defeated Jacqueline Gourlay 21-20 in a very closely contested Ladies Championship final. After an entertaining game with bowls of the highest quality, Jacqueline fought back to level the match at 20-20 and lay 3 shots before Louise, with the last bowl of the game, drew the Championship winning bowl. Well done to Louise who is now a 2 time ladies champion and commiserations to Jacqueline on her fantastic run to her first final.

Tomorrow, the club and Stewartry President Murray Wylie, are delighted to host the annual County Finals Day. All members from across the Stewartry are welcome to come and watch what should be an entertaining days bowling.
At 10.30am it all kicks off with the Pairs and Mixed Pairs finals. The pairs final is an all Kirkcudbright affair with last years runners up, Peter Brown and Stevie Little, hoping to go one better when they play Darren and David Gourlay.... The Mixed Pairs final is a repeat of last years final where Robert McClune and Louise Little aim to avenge last years defeat against the 9 times champions, Keith Shuttleworth and Christine Tennant of New Abbey.
The afternoon session begins at 1pm with the Rinks and Triples finals. The Kirkcudbright rink of Peter Brown, Darren Gourlay, Jim McCrossan and Shaun Hutchinson take on the Creetown rink of Ben Herries, Ian Carter, Jim Magennis and Frank Cummins. Jim and Shaun play in their first Stewartry final and good luck to all! The triples final is contested between Robert McClune, Brian McClune and Stevie Little who play the experienced Castle Douglas triple of John Crawford, Will Green and Will Brydson. Both games are shaping up to be tight affairs and should lead to an entertaining afternoon's session.
At 4pm, play concludes with the last 2 games with the senior rinks and singles finals. The senior rinks is between the Spalding rink of Peter Hamilton, Ian Murray, John Peacock & John McNally who play Dalbeattie in the shape of Bob Coban, Kenny Logan, Joe Porter & Billy McMinn. Dalbeattie are looking for their first title and Spalding chase their 2nd (Peter his first). Play concludes with the singles final between newly crowned Castle Douglas champion, Scott Davies, who plays Stewartry Vice President, Hugh Robertson of New Abbey. Scott is aiming to land his first title whereas Hugh is hoping to add to his 2015 success.
Throughout the day the junior singles will be taking place with the draw to be done tomorrow morning. Good luck to club members Alan McDonald and Keigam McMinn who go in search of their first title.
Good luck to all players (especially the Kirkcudbright ones) and we hope to see as many spectators as possible to enjoy the days bowling.
