'Do the kind of things that come from the heart. When you do, you won't be dissatisfied, you won't be envious, you won't be longing for somebody else's things. On the contrary, you'll be overhelmed with what comes back' -Mitch Albom - - - Swimming in the sea has had overwhelming results for me. ... -The sense of community to start. Everyone has been so welcoming, kind and warm. I have never experienced becoming part of a group so comfortably and quickly with so much love and positivity. -A strong connection to nature helps me to reset and regain clarity of what is meaningful. -Better mental wellbeing. The past few years have been a bit rocky and at times I have felt lost in grief, loneliness and lack of worth. Sea swimming helps me to feel energised for life, grounded and present. - - - #seaswimming #love #tuesdayswithmorrie #mitchalbom #community #portobello #scotland #edinburgh #energy #mentalhealth @ Portobello beach

Another beautiful morning swim in the sea 😍 I absolutely adore living by the sea ❤ - - - As I've said before, there are so many wonderful benefits to sea swimming and just being on the beach.... -The sound of the waves can send the mind into meditative state which can give space for creative ideas. -It can help alleviate symptoms from the fast paced, technology driven lifestyle such as anxiety and depression - Sea air has negative ions which can increase energy levels, improved respiration and general wellbeing

Beautiful swim in the sea this morning. I actually met up with two of the lovely ladies that I accidentally (maniacally) paddled over to the other week. - What are the benefits of cold water swimming? Here are a few that have come up repeatedly - 1. Boosts the immune system... 2. Improves circulation 3. Improves mood by releasing endorphins 4. Sense of connection with the natural world 5. Community, such a strong sense of community and every person I have met has been so lovely and welcoming - There is so much research into the benefits of cold water therapy. Check out the website https://www.outdoorswimmingsociety.com for more info. And if you do decide to give it a go, make sure you're safe! Do your research and always go with someone else. - - - #coldwaterswimming #painrelief #mentalhealth #edinburghfitness #portobello #wildswimming #wildones #taketheplunge #breathe @ Portobello beach

Beautiful morning for a swim in the sea 😍 I thought I was late and swimming out to people I knew... Turns out Porty cold water swimmers are lovely and welcoming to strangers manically doggy paddling towards them 😂
When I got of bed I thought there was no way I was going for a cold swim. But after practicing a mindfulness exercise from a course I'm doing, I counted down from 5 and ran to get ready and get out. It was the best decision! If you're struggling to start something ...new/positive, even if it's just starting a new day, I highly recommend taking a few minutes to count 10 breaths, feel the sensations in the body and count down from 5 and just do it before you overthink it.
