Kismot

A party of 7 of us were there last night, we had a selection of starters which we shared, each one was delicious. We ordered individual main courses and no one was disappointed, the food was lovely and we only needed 3 rice and 3 naan between us. Plus it's a BYOB so not to expensive. Will definitely recommend.

As newcomers to Edinburgh, my daughter and I struck lucky last night by picking Kismot. We had a lovely flavoursome vegetable curry with a delicious garlic naan. It is a friendly and welcoming venue with good table service, busy, attentive, warm but unfussy. If you are looking for a feel-good, relaxed time with authentic Indian food, the kind of place you will come back to again and again, then Kismot delivers the goods. They have something special going here that you can feel the moment you step inside. A true hidden treasure.

Great place. Very reasonably priced, food not too oily like other Indian places I've been, very friendly staff and it's BYOB with no corkage which makes it super cheap overall. Best value night out in Edinburgh

Kismot is probably my favourite Indian restaurant in old town Edinburgh. They have a good selection of curries categorized by taste on their menu so it's easy to narrow down your choices - which can be challanging sometimes in other Indian restaurants. They don't offer a great number of starters, but that's not a problem because they have delicious side dishes which can replace the starters.

As for the food quality you can tell that all food is made from fresh ingredients. And the fact that all food is homemade just makes your dining experience perfect. It's like eating in your grandma's dining room.

And the waiters are the best. There are usually a girl and a boy waiter, I know that the boy is one of the owner's sons, and these two are just a delight to have around. They are helpful and friendly, always with a big smile and kind words to make you feel welcome.

I simply love Kismot and it's lucky we live in the neighbourhood so we can visit quite often.

Oh and did I mention it's byob? You can bring your favourite wine for free to compliment the excellent food.

Excellent service, family, authentic atmosphere and amazing food - that's what you can find in Kismot. Staff will take proper care of yourselft and serve massive portions of delicious food.

Growing up in England I know a good curry when I have one. Well, let me tell you Kismot managed to deliver on all fronts and exceeded any curry that I have had in years.They are able to master a super hot curry with layers and layers of flavour. This is rare in our society that wishes to appease the masses. If you are in Edinburgh pop in here and prepare to indulge yourself in the most delicious curry you are ever likely to eat. On top of that it is a family run business with mum and dad in the kitchen!

Amazing flavorful curry with friendly service! My wife is Anglo Indian and she swears by this place! But don't take our word for it, come for dinner you will not be disappointed.
