Knee Pain Study Glasgow Description

Knee Pain Study - Flare!

This is a short study to evaluate a new form of Ibuprofen in patients with knee pain in the Glasgow area.
To be eligible you need to have had at least one episode of knee pain in the last year.

What happens?
1. Telephone call - A Research nurse will call you to make sure you are suitable for the study and then invite you to a Registration visit at a GP surgery near you.
2. Registration visit - We will ensure that you are suitable and ask your permission to contact your GP for your medical history (you will be paid £10 travel expenses for this visit).
3. Visit 1 - When your knee pain recurs call us as soon as possible. We will see you quickly and give you the study medication and a diary to record your symptoms (you will be reimbursed £30 for this visit).
4. Visit 2 - 5 days later. If your pain has settled then that is the end of the study. If not you will be offered another 5 days of treatment (you will be reimbursed £30 for this visit).
5. Visit 3 - If you have required another five days of treatment then we will see you at the end of this time (you will be reimbursed £30 for this visit).
