About Kyleakin Connections
Day centre for adults with learning /physical disabilities.
Kyleakin Connections Description
Kyleakin Connections is a local charity based in the Old School in Kyleakin. Since 1981 we have been supporting and promoting independent living for the people of Skye and Lochalsh with learning disabilities.
We encourage independent living for people with learning disabilities, to help develop their independence and to lead ordinary, fully inclusive lives within the community. We offer a place where people can come together to learn new skills and improve existing skills.
The weekly programme - Wednesday- we run our own cafe. Thursday - adult literacy & numeracy and IT training with West Highland College. Friday - various indoor & outdoor activities including John Muir Awards, sports, art & craft projects, cookery workshops, yoga sessions, conservation / garden work, working in partnership with local group within the community.
We enter Highland Disability Sports competitions throughout the year. We produce & perform our very own pantomimes which have proved very popular.
