Lagganhouse Country Park

In 1941-1945 I attended what was then Laggon School run by a Castilian couple.
This was before the fire that destroyed the West wing. My parents used to drive up from Blackpool with their caravan parking it on a concrete slab with room for about 2 others. I remember fixing the floating weir that had broken. We put on plays and I was the stage electrician using lead sticks in Pyrex dishes full of salt water as light dimmers. The war was far away. Happy memories.

The place was beautiful and quiet. On the entertainment front there was not really much to do so we had to go out further to explore.

Just returned from a weeks holiday. Fab place in a beautiful setting. Staff really helpful and friendly. Caravan was fabulous and my eldest liked idea of central heating. The bar and restaurant was lovely and the onside owners were really friendly. Would recommend Laggan house to anybody. Thanks for a wonderful weekend with my daughters. Look forward to seeing you again .

Peaceful location clubhouse if you wanted .

Peaceful but doesn't have many activities or much entertainment

my parents own a caravan here so myself, wife and kids go here often. its a nice place to relax and the bar sells a nice pint, my kids love the play park and the village of ballantrae is nice to visit too.
