Victoria had her lovely four year old, Laighlands Sgian Dubh, by Laighlands Bonnie Laddie, at her first dressage today. Victoria and we, were delighted with how well she handled her first time, and also delighted with her score and fourth place. Well done Victoria and Sian 💖🐎 xx

Almost 13 years ago I met a handsome little colt straight off the ferry from Cavan, and I initially thought he looked like a Freddie, but we all eventually agreed on Brodie, and Allan decided on ‘Classic Scott’ Brodie was always eye catching with his burnished chestnut coat and his four perfect white socks and super talented athleticism it wasn’t a surprise to us when he achieved the grade of Class 1 Irish Draught Stallion.
He has achieved many things in his 13 years, but w...e are proud of him every day, not least of his achievements, but because of his temperament and his cheery, cheeky outlook on life. He is probably the most clever horse I’ve ever been involved in, he knows if he’s being turned out, going to an event or going to a mare. He has a bronze merit for British Showjumping and British Dressage and we’d like to say thank you to Camilla Church for her work with him to help achieve this. His progeny are doing amazing things.
In her first year competing Laighlands Glenfiddich achieved qualification for the BD Draught dressage championships, was third in Scotland in the my quest dressage qualification table and won her small hunter class, took champion ridden, then champion overall as a five year old.
He has Laighlands Ben Vorlich and Laighlands Ben Cruachin, Laighlands Glenfiddich and Brincruben Bell all successfully competing British Dressage. His Laighlands Caol Loch Allise was third in a very strong mare of the future class at the national breed show. Laighlands Lora falls is successfully eventing. These are all pure bred draughts. All of his progeny inspected so far have achieved Class one RID status
Brodie has offspring who are family horses and just because they are not competing or competing at unaffiliated level doesn’t make them any less important to us as a family or stud. These horses bring us immense pride and we have made friends from all over the uk and the point is, he breeds them safe and sane and suitable for families 💖 and there are still some beautiful Brodie babies who are yet to be backed and achieve their ridden record 💖

Another great day for Laighlands bred horses! Laighlands Ben Vorlich by Classic Scott, owned by Carrie, was third with 67% in his prelim class and Brincruben Bell also by Classic Scott was second with 62% in her into class 🎉 xx
