Well worth a visit when you come to Edinburgh, especially if you’re looking for something a wee bit different 👍

We stumbled upon Laila's randomly walking through Edinburgh and it made a wonderful evening. We ordered a number of starters - Dolma, Falafel, Baba Ganoush, Haloumi with Cranberry...all excellent. The chargrilled chops with the rice and ocra was highlight - perfectly cooked. Even Mamo took time out to tell us how it was cooked. I can't recommend Laila's highly enough...

Visiting the fringe and decided to stop here for lunch. Great decision. Food was delicious, portions were huge and the staff were so helpful. Hadn't realised that it wasn't licensed but our waitress pointed out the licence grocer across the road and sorted out our wine glasses. I had one of the 'small plates' of chicken wings and salad but needed help to eat it as there was so much food. My husband had the sausage casserole and rice and it was delicious. Rose ice cream was yummy and the fudge cake was huge and very tasty. Definitely be visiting again.

This is a very very great food restaurant,we were very full and contented after our meal .they even alow you to take in your own alcoholic drinks as they don't serve them.

The food is good and also the location just at the heart of Old City

Lovely food - great service and great vibe

It's lovely to find a place where it's all about the food. We ordered a selection of starters and all were amazing. Staff were perfect and a free bottle of water on arrival is a lovely touch. Well worth a visit

Delicious food!! Both my friend and I loved our dishes. I loved all the spices and fresh flavors from the lamb meatballs, and she loved her vegetarian falafel wrap. This was a welcomed break from fish and chips or all the other fried foods near the Royal Mile.

Came here for the second time yesterday. Once again enjoyed lovely healthy food, cosy ambience and friendly staff. Well situated near the station and shops/ Royal mile etc. Reasonable prices. Plus the staff made a fuss of my 6 year old daughter (also named Leila!)

Always gone to Hanam's but last night went to Laila's for a family meal and was certainly not disappointed. Atmosphere and food fantastic with great options for kids. Will definitely be back on our return visit to Edinburgh!

After so many days of sandwiches, we walked in this lovely restaurant, warm embience and best of all the food. Must try chicken with rice, just love it.

A trendy little Bistro with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very polite and attentive and the food delicious. My daughter has the chicken salad and I had soup of the day...fantastic. I'm in Edinburgh again in 5 weeks with my better half so I will definitely be taking her. Cheers

Very tasty food in a supremely relaxed atmosphere. Babaganoush extremely tasty as were the falafels with hummus. My friends spicy lamb sausages and chicken skewers were very tasty as was my hot smoked salmon and cream cheese panini. Very reasonable £1.50 corkage charge for our BYOB wine. We'll definitely be back.

We visited today around 3pm. We chose this place out of the many hundreds of eateries mainly because there was a table available. We ordered the specials salmon and a chicken dish. The food took over 30mins to arrive and when it did the chicken was raw. I asked for the chicken to be put back on the grill to which the waitress saw to. When the chicken came back it was cooked a little more but still tepid at this stage, slightly pink and rubbery. I was put completely off and only ate the salad. I didn't want to cause a fuss as I was conscious it might put my fiance off her salmon so I politely pointed this out when I asked for the bill which took a further 20mins to arrive. When I pointed the un-cooked chicken out to the waitress she went and got the manager who came over and told me the chicken was cooked. I politely said this was not the case, he rudely told me I was wrong and there was nothing wrong with the chicken, as it was supposed to be like that as it had been cooked in its skin. Chicken is supposed to be raw? Really? At this point I was frustrated with him and his disgraceful obnoxious manner and to top it all off he expected us to pay for the raw unediable chicken. The food was swimming in oil, over-priced and not edible. If I could give a minus zero star I would. Don't go unless you want food poisoning and an argument with someone who has no customer service skills whatsoever.
