IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME:
Which ancestor would you most like to meet and why?
I can't answer that one, too many I'd like to meet and ask questions. It would be great to see what they all looked like too.
... Photos below are supposed to be my 4th Grt. Grandparents though this is not verified. I share a birthday with my 4th Grt. GM. They are one of the few I don't have any questions to ask.

How many of you use Facebook for genealogy?
If you're unsure of using or how best to use social media to aid you in your research, have a look at this blog. You can register for regular newsletters which are full of tips and useful websites. The best bit is it's FREE !

This is a bit different. Not heard of haggis scones before.
Hope you've all enjoyed your haggis, neeps and tatties tonight.

Came across this photo while digging through some of my old records. This is a headstone in Cambusnethan Old Parish Cemetery. it reads - Erected in memory of James Weir, son of John Weir and Jean Elder in this parish. Who died August 20th 1821, aged 17 months and nine days. This child when only 13 months old measured three feet four inches in height, 39 inches round the body, 20 inches round the thigh, and weighed eight stone, said at the time by the medical faculties of Edinburgh and Glasgow to be the most extraordinary child of his age on record.
