Hello, gorgeous, I'm glad you stopped by. Welcome to Laura Chen Photography!
Can I tell you a secret? You and your family are unique- there's no one else quite like you on this planet. It is all the little things, all the seemingly insignificant details, all the perfectly imperfect quirks- they are the things that make your family special.
And my job? I get to show it to you. I get to show it in a creative way that you get to keep forever. And this makes me happy. With the huge added bonus that it makes the people I photograph very happy too (although sometimes they do cry a little. Being shown just how beautiful you and your family are, when you didn't even realise it can have that effect sometimes).
My photographs are taken with a mother's eye and a desire to capture the true personality of your child. Your portraits will be natural and relaxed. They will show the connections and the love between each other and wonderful moments of just being yourselves. They tell stories of real lives and real love. My style is relaxed and organic - I always follow childs cues. I specialise in newborn and baby portrait photography because I believe in focusing on doing what makes your heart sing- this is what I love and do best. I mostly work with natural light because it's flattering and helps create photographs that embrace life in it's natural, untampered beauty.
I'm definitely not the photographer for everyone. You will never hear me tell your child to 'say cheese'. I believe that the best smile is a real one and sometimes, it's ok not to smile. .

Laura Chen Photography opening hours and practices during this unprecedented time:
* The studio will remain open by appointment only (as before) until further notice.
* As always the studio gets fully cleaned and disinfected after each and every session (I only ever do one session a day for this very reason).
... * All fluff and clothes children come in contact with are thoroughly washed after every session.
* All props are cleaned and disinfected after every session.
* My hands are always washed before every session (even before this outbreak) and sanitiser is used as and when needed. Parents are welcome to wash their hands before and during the session.
These are not new or unusual practices for me or my studio. Newborn safety and hygiene at work has always been my main priority and it will remain so during this time.
