Lc Eventing Description

Here at L. C. Eventing we have a few horses who have been out Eventing this season as well as other competitions to keep up their education.

We also specialise in educating ponies and horses, be this producing them to a higher level, or just making them that bit easier for you there owner to ride.
We also take horses and ponies if you simply don't have time for a week or two, (say if you have exams) or if you are going away on holiday.

We offer an enthusiastic and passionate service with Louise being an experienced, understanding and compassionate adult rider.

Our main focus is to educate your horse or pony, or your childs so you or your child will find it easier to ride and therefore have a happier riding experience and be able to compete to a higher standard. Louise has a keen personal interest in Eventing but will accept horses or ponies for any discipline. Unfortunately we do not take horses or ponies in for breaking as this requires more than myself and I can not always guarantee having someone around to help me.

• As a small and lightweight rider, Louise can ride horses and ponies of any age, size and build.
• Louise has a lot of experience within the competition circuit.
• Based in the Scottish Borders, just out side Kelso we have a wide range of fantastic facilities inc. 25x45m arena with a full set of SJ and plenty of hacking.

We aim to focus only on a small number of horses and ponies at any one time so we can provide a quality service to produce positive results.

Boo was loving her physio treatment from Hazel Potter Veterinary & Chartered Physiotherapist this morning, she found it so relaxing her head was nearly on the floor. Daisy also had a nice physio treatment, but she got herself a bit excited! #PhysioTime #BooDiddley #DaisyJane

What a long but successful day we had yesterday at Cumbria Horse Trials at Warwick Hall. Daisy was up 1st for her 1st Novice of the season, I played it a bit too safe in our dressage as I don't think either of us were terribly settled. Onto the Show Jumping that I've been worrying about for at least a week, it wasn't a great round on paper but she is becoming so much more settled and really trying for me in the phase and I know it'll get better, there was 1 fence that she to...tally didn't deserve. Quick change and off xc, there were a few combinations on course that had me a bit worried, a triple with the 1st part on a dog leg, then a house on a slight angle which was numbered separately. Then a triple down hill, starting with a corner under a tree, to a hanging log and on down to a skinny, the perfect place for Daisy to jump big and run out of space to the skinny. A jump drop into water and a wee fence in the water and finishing with a double if corners. Now that we've completed I don't know why I was worried about any of the combinations, she gave me an absolutely fantastic round for our 2nd Novice and 1st Novice this season. We definitely had a nicer round than some this season, she has much more respect for the bigger fences and didn't even make them feel big. Absolutely delighted for her!!
Boo was up next for the BE100open. She wasn't happy that she had to wait for a while for her turn to play. She pulled out a nice test, still things I felt could be improved but we got a 27.3. Back on the lorry for a quick run round her 100 course as the Novice went a slightly different way. Back to the lorry and ready for our SJ, she was more settled in the warm up which was great. She pinged round the course for a lovely clear making it feel very easy. Quick change and onto the Cross Country, wow what an awesome ride, quick check with Wills about the long route at the water, and we were off, wow, what another awesome ride I had, I took a bit more control into the Trackena than I did last week but she flew it, she was straight through all the other combinations, we took the long route at the water as she hasn't always been the best at dropping in, something we're definitely going to have some practice at. She absolutely flew round making it feel very easy to finish inside the time to finish in her dressage score for 2nd place! Absolutely love my girls! They try their best out for me. Huge thanks to Jane Clark for all your help yesterday and putting up with me all week while I've been rather nervous and not the nicest. And to Claire Hardie for her support too, and doing a wee bit on the yard yesterday which meant we got home to a nice clean yard at 9.30. Huge thanks to my sponsors for their continued support. And to everyone else who has supported and helped me with the girls and my riding.

We've had a very chilled, relaxed and informative afternoon with Andy from The Saddleman today. We had a few needing saddles. 2 were getting Jump saddles and 1 Dressage saddle. Andy was very good, looked at each horse individually and fitted each saddle to each horse and added more wool flocking when needed. He also watched the horses in hand and then under saddle to check how they moved and how the saddles fitted. The 2 jump saddles were great and we had a play with 3 dif...ferent Dressage saddles, eliminating one fairly quickly and riding in the other 2 a couple of times to see how I felt and how my girl went in it. Who wouldn't enjoy an afternoon in the sun with good company, sunshine and views like this? #LuckyPonies #StunningView

What a lovely day at our local event yesterday at Floors Castle Horse Trials.
Daisy kicked off the day. She warmed up nicely and then got a bit excited which resulted in a little bit of tension when we went through for the dressage but we got her settled in time and produced a 31.8 mark, her judges comment was very accurate of 'Enthusiastic Horse'! We got our show jumping warm up bang on too, she doesn't like hanging around but as soon as I was happy with the warm up we wer...e called in, we sauntered into the ring looking very casual with 1 hand on the rein, but this work great for Daisy! She jumped a nice round, got a bit quick in the 1st double to related but it was fine and she tapped the 2nd part of the last double but we were very happy to have a clear round, for the 1st time this season! Then onto xc, she flew round making it feel very easy to finish inside the time and therefore on her dressage make for 5th place.
Boo was extremely excited to be out at her 1st event, I don't think she could believe her luck! She produced a good test, just struggling a bit on the slope to drop us some marks but she still produced a 29. She was quite keen show jumping and definitely making me work hard for our clear round. Onto the xc and we had a bit of a wait in the warm up, again she was super excited to be heading off to the start box, she flew out and over the 1st 4 with ease, and I think a mixture of her feeling so keen and thinking she knew better I didn't get her back enough for the trakhena at 5 and unfortunately had a stop, she jumped it the 2nd time and flew round the rest of the course, very speedily to finish inside the time, a very frustrating stop as she would have been 2nd but so so pleased to have her out again doing what she loves, she came off the lorry well and spent some time in the field last night before coming in for the evening. Next time I will make sure I have a bit more say at the start of the course!
Yesterday was a huge team effort, thanks to Richard for coming and supporting me while he was home, Claire for helping with the girls while mum and dad were jump judging. Also thanks to Jane for all the help in the lead up to today.
Thanks to everyone who came and supported me, there were a lot of you and if I start tagging you I'll miss someone!
Also a huge thanks to my wonderful sponsors for their continued support. SJM Equestrian Clarks Clippers Dodson & Horrell Dodson & Horrell Scotland Muddy-Footprints The Northumbrian Tweed Company
And lastly thank you to the wonderful Dave Cameron Photography for the lovely photos he got yesterday, here are a couple!

1 pair of Large Black Mark Todd Tendon boots, only used for competing, normal signs of scuffs but in no way does it effect the use! Velcro in excellent condition. Only for sale as they're just a bit too big for my wee mare.
1 pair of Medium Black Mark Todd Fetlock boots. Very light use but still a couple of scuffs. Excellent condition as used about 3 or 4 times max. Only for sale as they're just a bit too big for my wee mare.
£25 each or would sell as a set foot £45. ... Happy to post at buyers expense or can collect. I'll also be at Floors Castle Horse Trails from Thursday and can leave on a stand for you if needed.

Daisy does like a snooze, especially lying in her own poo. But today she also decided she wanted some hair extensions.

What a lovely relaxed morning we've had at the Buccleuch Hunt Summer Show. Boo went for another dressage test and show jumping round on grass before she starts Eventing for the season. She produced a nice test for 71% to take the win and she jumped a lovely clear in the 95cm Show Jumping, shame the jockey got a bit competitive and let her get a bit long and flat into the double in the jump off to have it down, we were the fastest 4 faulters, and I think that will be the last... of our jump offs for a wee while. Mum and Cookie also had a fab morning, they also gained 71% in the other class of dressage to finish 3rd, they had a green stop at some scary fillers off the corner in their show jumping but popped it 2nd time then just a pole down in the Working Hunter but all very pleased. We really have had a lovely morning, a well run show which was very friendly. Huge thanks to everyone who helped.
