L.D Dance Academy Description
Dancing and the Dance World has been a huge part of my life from a very early age. My
journey started when I first stepped into my first pair of dance shoes at the age of 6 at a dance class in my local school. I moved onto the competitive dance floor at aged 9 and have since spent the last 10 years working hard to perfect my craft. I used to love watching dancers from Gillian Anderson’s school at competitions in my early days and wanted to be just like them. Soon I made the move and have never looked back. I have since spent many focussed hours training at Le Dance Studio in Barrhead
This has involved many long hours of travel for me (and my mum) to and from my
home in Stirling to Le Dance Studio in Barrhead to train, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have achieved numerous top titles over the last 10 years which I am so proud of, from British to European, Diva Divo to the Worlds and Disco Kid which I have been crowned 6 years running! also have had the honour to be nominated for and won ‘Le Classique De Danse’ U16 category in 2009 and 2014 was again nominated for the same
award, this time in the Adult section. I feel truly blessed to be so lucky to have had the experiences I have had and to have danced in so many wonderful places throughout my dancing career. It has led me to so many other opportunities off the dance floor like attending Dance College, a Personal Training Course, showcasing my dancing on on the CBBC show ‘ School for Stars’ and an extra’s part on the popular BBC TV Drama Series ‘Waterloo Road’. The titles, awards and trips have truly been the icing on the cake for what has been a very exciting journey in dance for me and it is a real honour to be recognised alongside other exceptionally talented dancers over my competitive years. Being able to continue dancing into adulthood has been a real dream come true for me and has made me achieve my life long ambition to open my own school and able to teach all around the uk, Russia, and Norway With alot of hard work first and foremost and setting goals this has finally all. came together. I’ve been able to develop the techniques and skills to enable me to explore
movement and expressive performance beyond my wildest expectations as well as developing my own unique style for the competition dance floor inspired by the dedication and drive of many great champions who I have had the opportunity to train with and learn from. There are no limits when you have courage, belief and
determination and are prepared to work very hard which is why I welcome everyone to come to my classes and let me help you work yourself to your true limits. I honestly can say I live, sleep, eat and breath ‘dance’ and cannot imagine my life without it
