Herbs and spices have been used throughout history for their beneficial properties, as important helpers, in order to support good health, aid digestion, flavour food, counter infection, enhance our toiletries, and in the management of varied conditions and diseases.

As a Herbalist and Aromatherapist I often combine aspects of both therapies when patients come to see me, as I have found healing can be improved when massage is used either as a catalyst in the treatment plan, or as a supportive aid to the herbs given. For example, herbal liniments or ointments are often used, combined with essential oils when massaging muscles that are tense and painful.

With experience in herbal first aid and running a clinic, I have found that there are differences in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
