Lichfield Guildhall Cells Description

Edward Wightman was held in theses cell before his execution, the last person to be burned at the stake for heresy in England, came to his gruesome end on Lichfield's Market Square on 11 April 1612. Lichfield City Council is marking the 400th anniversary of his death with a ceremony on Lichfield Market square on Wednesday 11 April 2012 at 12 noon, and the reopening of the Guildhall Cells.
