Once, while going through a catalogue of life-changing health issues, I experienced the world as abstract; alive with movement. It made me feel alive and excited, giving me the strength and hope I needed to adapt, deepening my connection with the landscape and instigating my love for abstraction and movement. Two years ago, I discovered a little known camera technique called Intentional Camera Movement, or ICM, which locks scenes into movement with varying degrees of abstraction, and I reconnected with these positive feelings. Today, guided by the scenes' visual and emotional stimuli, I seek the hidden souls of the landscape. Moving the camera while locked in long exposure introduces the distinctive characteristics of Intentional Camera Movement - additional textures, strong lines, gentle focus, grain and shifted colours - and creates a simplified, distorted realism of the scene. Abstraction, which is controlled by the movement, gives way to imaginative sub-landscapes,  THE HIDDEN SOULS.  The images are then finished on the computer, often going through extensive modifications. Each image is unique in style and in nature, and impossible to reproduce. They are worlds of peace and simplicity through abstraction; healing, love and harmony through colours; energy, co-operations and determination through movement and texture; renewal through transformation. They are glimpses into a very personal space which reflects my personality, my changing moods, my feelings, my growing experience and my everlasting love for abstraction and intense colours. They'll take you on a journey of visual, emotional and personal discovery through impressionism, surrealism and minimalism, reminiscent of the 19th Century impressionist painters who captivate me and influence my work. They'll stimulate your thoughts, stir your emotions, challenge your concepts, inspire your curiosity and defy your understanding. They are Lightscape Creations.
