Really amazing historical buliding with very nice views from top of it. A nice lake and park located next to it. A worth visiting place.

What a fantastic building. It's huge. Well worth a visit. Wear comfy shoes as there are a lot of spiral staircases. Great historical interest. The staff were so knowledgeable too and friendly.

We saw quite a few castles and palaces during our 2 week stay in the UK, and while this was the very last before heading back to Heathrow it was in my opinion one of the best. Such an amazing amount of history within those walls, as explained on the various info boards throughout; and being able to walk freely through rooms that had been home to so many generations of kings and queens is something I'll never forget. It may be more a ruin than a living palace, but the echoes of grandeur are loud and clear.

An excellent experience getting you back in time and playing with your imagination. The place catches your senses since the beginning of the visit. You can visit the palace at your pace and going wherever you want, so it's completely personal. The view to the lake is lovely.

Great building with lots of places for the little ones to explore. Some really good views from the tops of the building and nice walks down by the waterside too. There's not much wheelchair or pushchair access except for the main courtyard and there are plenty of winding stone staircases, but they are wide with banisters on some of them. The car park isn't huge but there is a pay and display just at the foot of the hill if it's full. They do have a single toilet with baby facilities and it has disabled access.

Beautiful castle with amazing park surrounding it. Perfect for day out with the family or friends. The staff was amazing! Friendly, helpful and well prepared. Thank you again for the wonderful day :)

Excellent piece of Scottish history. Get lost in time exploring the different rooms of this palace from the darkest corners of the wine cellar to the top 360 panoramic view of Linlithgow. Definitely worth having a visit.

Great visit. Steeped in history. Great views of the loch & peel. A must for photographers.
Information boards throughout building in english, french and german. A shop with guide books in various languages and Historic Scotland merchandise.Staff very friendly and helpful.
access is up a fairly steep cobble stone hill to a car park. Not a great building if disabled or have mobility issues. Many split levels with original worn flagstone floors and spiral staircases.

Beautiful castle protected by Historic Scotland. Custodians so very helpful. Loved my visit and plan to go back next year. Well worth a visit 🌟

A favoured residence of the Stewart kings and queens from James I (1406-37) onward. Building work commissioned by James I, III, IV, V and VI can be seen. The great hall and chapel are particularly fine. James V (1512) and Mary Queen of Scots (1542) were both born here. well worth a visit.

We stumbled across a true iconic piece of Scottish history by chance yesterday walking through the town doing a bit of shopping and what a wonderful site to see when you walk down the street and I stumble on such a beautiful building we didn't know this place was here we will be going back again a wonderful beautiful building full of History well worth a visit if you are near or going to linlithgow Scotland .

Very poor, beautiful surroundings but why you don't state clearly on your website different opening times during the winter season? Note for all the visitors from Oct last entry is at 3:15pm.. and it shuts at 4pm.

User

Lovely place to walk around either the ruins or the grounds. Take the children and the dog for a run around the grounds or use the swing parks by the loch. Just remember to treat yourself to a wee treat from one of the lovely eateries on the main street.

The volunteer guides from the local schools should be appraised for their efforts. The message fountain is a really complex masterpiece that need to be seen and experienced. Todays modern design is lacking in adventure and creative hidden codes
