Ladies 2s retain Division 2 status
Our ladies 2s took to the courts on Tuesday night with the strange predicament of being 2nd in the league while still having the possibility of relegation. Taking matters into their own hands they got a good 8-4 win at home to Inchyra. If our ladies 1st team also defeat Inchyra in the remaining game of the season we will finish 1st and 2nd in division 2.... Performance of the night was Liz Thomson and Laurie McKerrow taking the 1st set against Inhyras strong 1st pairing, which helped the team to a commanding 5-1 lead at halfway point. Our team were Liz Thomson/Laurie McKerrow 3 sets Elaine Townsend/Fiona Walton 3 sets Anne Marie French / Anne Cross Bissett 2 sets
Well done Ladies

Helicopter moment for 16u team
Our 16U 1st team won the league on the last day of the season as they beat Dollar 6-0 while rivals Bridge of Allan went down 4-2 to Kippen. The highlight of yesterdays match was in the doubles. Sam Featherstone and Jack Bonnar fought back from 4-0 down to win 7-6. They saved match point at 6-5 in games with some spectacular volleys from Jack. In the tie break they saved another 2 set points from 6-4 down to 6-6. At 6-6 Jack scorched a return for a clean winner down the tramline, for partner Sam to punch home the winning volley to take the tiebreak 8-6. Well done to all players who took part this season including Gregor Tait and Lauchlan Muir, a ridiculously strong 3rd and 4th combo who both went unbeaten all season.

Mens 3rd team lose out to Stirling 2s
There were some should have been's , some could have been's and a couple of how on earth did it not come to be's but the men's 3rd team found some fresh ways to lose games to go down 12-0 to Stirling. (Smashing game point onto the adjacent court from directly above the net being a particular classic from their heroic captain.) Our juniors on the other hand were eyed enviously by Stirling with some of their play, outstanding. Matthew Fulto...n was singled out by the opposition over tea for his forehand consistency, Logan Ireland making his debut for the men's teams showed why he is so useful with a badminton racket with some bullet overheads and Lewis Gordon showing some serious power on his forehands. The future looks bright to reverse some of the 5-7s and 4-6s in the coming seasons Our team was Andy Bonnar/ Lewis Gordon Scott Jack/ Matthew Fulton Edward Brice/ Logan Ireland
