Little Big Screen Description

Our Mission:
Little Big Screen@Gullane Village Hall aims to being a broad selection of wonderful films to our village hall, for everyone to enjoy. Our programme celebrates quality films from the local to the global; home-grown to mainstream. Little Big Screen is a project of Gullane Community Association Village Hall, run by volunteers.

Film shows and making films:
Everyone is welcome to come to our films. We’ve started with two films per month – one for families and one for older age groups - in Gullane Village Hall.

Films are a mix of old favourites, blockbusters, world cinema and films for kids and young people. We really want to showcase home-grown films by local people or about East Lothian. We can help you or your group to make a film, so get in touch if you’d like to explore this. Can you give us information about local films and perhaps a copy - in DVD or digital format? Hopefully this can develop into an East Lothian film archive

Our film showing licence is for the Village Hall-this means we don't pay roylaties (which would be over £100 per film) but we cannot charge an admission fee. The films aim to contribute to running our village hall and to improving the equipment and facilities. This is for the people of Gullane and neighbouring villages- so donations from our cinema goers are really important!

As per screening guidelines, young people below the film’s age certification can’t be admitted, so remember to bring along your photo ID. . For more information on screening guidelines visit www. bbfc. co. uk /.

Young people under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult; let us know if you need help with this.

Refreshments are on sale, but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Hot drinks are free - and are Fair Trade.

Getting to our films:
We are keen to help reduce east Lothian's carbon footprint - so, if you can, please come on foot or share a lift.

About our community cinema project:
We launched in December 2011 after the audio visual equipment was upgraded through the Village Hall’s Hub for All project. Little Big Screen is run by volunteers and we’d love more people to get involved. Please get in touch if you’d like to - join the organising group, volunteer at events or with communications, get on the mailing list, or just find out more!
