What a great place. Food was excellent - worth a trip to Yell just to eat here. I would advise booking - but they did manage to fit us in even though we hadn't booked and they were busy.

We were at LJ's for a family meal yesterday lunch time. The food was great they even came and offered the tables more food as they'd made plenty. Managed to accommodate my dietary needs really well too. Great atmosphere with helpful staff.

We used to almost dread a visit to Yell as there was no-where to have a bite of lunch, but our visit to LJ's today was great!

Fresh food prepared as you wait. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed an interesting pulled pork pizza with a barbecue sauce. Our friends had freshly prepared sandwiches, well presented with salad, coleslaw and crisps. I am a difficult-to-please coffee drinker, but was delighted to find the coffee was excellent. I had a toasted wrap with Kentucky chicken, salad and coleslaw served with home-made chunky chips. Yum!

Will now look forward to visiting Yell much more often!

The food was excellent, all homemade and fresh. Really enjoyed our burgers today.

Our family had a delicious meal here today! The staff were really friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and my 5 year old daughter was very happy with the music! The service was brilliant and we were well looked after! The menu was good and the food was delicious! We travelled from Sumburgh to try it and it was well worth the trip. We can't wait to come back!

One of the best takeaway pizzas � I’ve had in Shetland ��

I'm home visiting for Christmas and we went for a visit up to the Aywick shop, stopping off at LJ's on the way home. The food was lovely, really good quality, prices were reasonable and service was fantastic. They even take American Express cards which is hard to find. Thanks for a great lunch!

How great to find somewhere to eat in Yell and also to find how good it was. The food and service was great. It was family orientated, we could see our food being cooked just for us and it came piping hot to the table. We will definitely go again.

Had a fantastic lunch. Had the sandwich soup combo and both were excellent. Then had the sticky toffee pudding which was really good and tasted my friends cheesecake which may have been the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted. Portions were excellent too. Highly recommended!

Had a fab lunch here yesterday with a group of family and friends. The food was great, service was fab and I love what they have done with the old art room that I used to study in :)

Great place to sit and eat. The food has been great every time we've been and I would recommend the beef chilli in particular, yum!

Fantastic place! Everyone in our group has something different off the menu and everyone enjoyed it! Brilliant kids menu! Great choice of fresh cooked food! Friendly staff, decent price! Wil defiantly back to try something else off the menu!

Been watching the opening of this eating establishment from New Zealand for a few months so on my latest trip to Yell I called in for lunch. It's a bit like walking into dr who's tardos, outside you think it's miles away from civilization, inside it's a fun New York diner with a great menu. Wonderful friendly and genuinely caring staff, actually I think hosts is a better word, good food served hot and quickly. This is a regular for me going forward. Well done to the owners and their vision and hard work, it adds another terrific reason to visit Yell.

An amazing place for families and especially people with allergies! Liam the chef came over sat down with us to discuss our family needs. My little girl who can rarely eat out was spoilt with a full meal! She usually only gets chips... I can not thank them enough, we have been twice now and will definitely be back. Be sure to give Liam 24hr notice for special diets, although he managed to accommodate us with no notice. Oh and the food is amazing! Even my fussy eater loves it :D

Absolutely brilliant place. Food is fantastic, service is first class. Really good value for money, love how you get to watch your food being cooked. Well done LJ you have done so well for yourself!! You should be very proud

I was in Yell and needed a coffee so decided to go along LJ's.

Clean and quiet, very polite and attentive waitress.

I ordered a latte and decided to treat myself with a small slice of apple pie (small slice and not a deep filling). The pie was even heated for me.

I chilled whilst drinking my coffee and eating my pie, making use of the free wi-fi.

All positive.

Until I went to pay. Latte was normal price for a cafe/diner, it was the price of the pie that floored me. £5.50 for one small slice! Honestly, that pie obviously cost over £60 to make .........

Will return for coffee but certainly never another bit of pie at that price!

Hence the 3 stars.....
