Still but chilly. Another stunning Loch Katrine day.

User

Another cracking shot from John McSporran. Can you see the steamer?

User

Our Eco Lodges are ideal for that late autumn getaway. It’s a good dark location, so if it’s clear you can see the stars, properly; with very little light pollution!

User

A panorama from last night. Brenachoile boathouse, Ben Venue and the Arrochar Alps all in the shot!

Wow wow and wow!! Staying at the eco lodges, what an amazing piece of heaven! This place is beautiful, first impression does not disappoint. Driving up to the car park we can see the hustle and bustle of people walking about with the steamships in view. Checking in was a breeze, the ladies whom checked us in were lovely and helpful.

Once we passed the reception/booking office, we drove the short distance to our designated parking space for the eco lodge. The lodge was just a few feet away. The area is spotless, so beautiful and tranquil. Our lodge did not disappoint, it was spotless, smelt lovely, with clean cutlery and crockery. We also had a wee welcome pack of tea and coffee, which was a nice surprise. The lodge is well thought of with a combi microwave, toaster, kettle, with a sink and running water. The bed and bunk beds are comfortable, the lodge was so nice and cosy. The lodge was warm, and we were able to open up the window with the midge net in place which helped, although the odd sneaky midge did get through! A massive thanks to Linda, housekeeping, very pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, hardworking lady, whom explained about everything we needed to know about the lodge and surrounding area.

Our lodge overlooked the loch and can see the steamships departing and arriving, absolutely beautiful watching these ships pass from the comfort of your lodge.

During our stay we went for a couple of walks and bike rides in and around the area. The scenery is amazing! We hired our bikes from KatrineWheelz and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Steamship cafe is lovely, we decided to book afternoon tea but because we had a dog we had to eat outside. This wasn't an issue and the manager was very accommodating, if the weather conditions were to turn to rain for the following day, then the manager advised that they would put up one of their parasol umbrellas. Also as I'm the only vegetarian in our family, the manager again took our sandwich order for the afternoon tea.

Again this place doesn't disappoint, and as promised the parasol umbrella was up due to light rain in the morning, the manager greeted us with his friendly smile when we arrived and promptly brought out our order of afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was lovely, i had vegetarian sandwiches, whilst the rest ate meat sandwiches and the scones and cupcakes are to die for!! (I'm sorry we didn't get the managers name but please pass on our thanks to him for his professional friendly helpful attitude, we enjoyed our afternoon tea).

We also had breakfast at the cafe and it was so fresh and delicious, especially the vegetarian breakfast for me!

Whilst staying at Loch Katrine, we decided to take the 2 hour return journey to stronachlachar on the Sir Walter Steamship. As we were staying at the lodges you get a 20% discount off the fare.

The steamship was lovely, the scenery is amazing, the staff are friendly and enjoyed the whole experience as did our daughters and dog.

Eco lodges, is a little piece of heaven, so quiet, clean, tidy and relaxing. One of the best places we have stayed at, so much so we've already booked up to stay again next year and can't wait!! Massive thanks to all the staff at Loch Katrine, we have enjoyed our few days away and don't want to go home!!!

User

What a fabulous area! Parked up our motorhome on Friday evening for an early trip booked for Saturday on the steam ship. Woke to a lovely sunny day. 2hour sail up the loch was wonderful! Staff on ship and pier/shop/site were all very helpful. Had planned to head off afterwards but decided to stay for the rest of the weekend. One of the best trips we've done and we'll definately be returning soon!

User

What a beautiful place! One of our favourite days in the Trossachs. Plenty of islands, nooks n' crannies to explore, with views of the mountains & hills to die for.

We would like to thank all the staff we spoke and interacted with, considering we were canoeing today and not taking a ferry trip. Everyone was nothing but really helpful and pleasant, offering to make our trip from the port as easy and safe as possible. THANK YOU :-)

User

Went here yesterday had a lovely day out weather was hot and the cruise was excellent with a good commentary from Dougie pointing out places of interest and the history behind them also got to see the osprey nest with the chicks heads popping up wonderful day finished off with a afternoon tea in the cafe highly recommend

User

We walked around Loch Katrine last Monday- I've been waiting a year to do it, as last year the hubby wasn't well enough. We were blessed with the weather and WHAT an experience.. . Amazing views... It was fab to reach Stronachlacher Pier where we indulged in yummy ice cream before catching The Lady of the Lake back to Trossachs Pier. Such a calm, peaceful, beautiful place, fab people, excellent service. If you're in The Trossachs, you MUST visit Loch Katrine

User

We stayed at Glen Gyle Cottage, this cottage is an absolute beautiful little place, well equipped and very clean and tidy, it also has free WiFi which is a bonus as on Orange and Three we had no service at all... you are 15 miles from the nearest shop so make sure you have your supplies.. Loch Latrine is beautiful and quiet, very little traffic there 2 vehicles on a 14 mile walk. We also rode tge loch steam boat with our two dogs, absolutely brilliant... The surrounding hills are stunning and moody.. it's a little piece if heaven... oh and look out for the wildlife its pretty special... enjoy... we did....

User

Visited Loch Katrine at the weekend and had an amazing time. The staff are all extremely helpful and the facilities are spotless. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway in Scotland. Beautiful scenery and a wee trip on the Sir Walter Scott steam boat was lovely as well. We stayed in the Eco pods which were super cosy and also loved that you couldn’t get a phone signal.

User

Such a fantastic weekend at your Eco pods, they are fantastic. We went for one of the more luxurious pods and so glad we did. Can’t recommend highly enough, they are beautifully decorated and in such a stunning location. It was lovely to be at Loch Katrine after hours as well and see the Sir Walter Scott so still and peaceful in the water. All the staff we encountered as well at the weekend were 10/10 too, a credit to your company! Well done Loch Katrine! We will be back soon!!

User

Stayed in the Loch Kathrine lodge for 2 nights, couldn’t rate this place highly enough. Spotlessly clean accommodation in a fantastic setting. Customer service from James and his team was first class, will definitely be back

User

Stayed in the Ben eco pod for one night over the weekend and cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I arrived late to check in but the staff still made sure I had everything I needed including a bottle of milk. The pods are to a very high standard and the attention to detail is fantastic. They are fully kitted out with tea and coffee, wifi and TV. Fantastic decking as well for a BBQ. The showers and toilets were absolutely spotless. Have stayed in many pods over the years around Scotland and can honestly say none are a match for Loch Katrine. So much to do in the area as well. Already planning my next visit. Thanks for everything

User

Second visit in 3 years with my sons and loved it again. Enjoyed the trip on the steam ship - delighted to spot an Osprey on our trip. It really is a beautiful part of the world. Enjoyed the cheery on board commentary including banter with “wee Tam”, skipper of another boat on the loch.

User

Parked our motorhome and were warmly welcomed by staff. Excellent facilities with electric hook up , water and toilets. We were given a fob to access the top class shower facility at the pod site. We had a brilliant cycle around the Loch. Can’t wait to go back. Just wish other places would welcome motorhomes so well.

User

Myself and cousin decided to visit for the afternoon with our kids. We took the boat trip on the lady of the lake this afternoon and our day out was completely made. My son is autistic and has adhd so gets very overexcited in most situations. He was super excited about being on the boat and the staff members Steven and Debbie if I remember correctly were amazing! They chatted to him, answered his questions and let him pretend he was a captain for a couple of minutes. You absolutely made his day wether you realised that I am not sure but I just wanted to say a massive thank you again. All the staff at the docks, kiosk and cafes are incredibly friendly and I would highly recommend visiting for a lovely family day out. We will certainly be back!!

Thanks again Steven and Debbie for making a family day out a memory we will never forget and a little boys dream come true

User

Me, hubby and in laws had a lovely day on the Loch.. we where on board the Lady of Loch and the crew were great. Very knowledgable. Then we had a lovely afternoon tea after the sail and to top it off the weather was fab.

User

Just stayed in the loch venacher eco lodge for 2 nights, can honestly say we had the best short holiday ever! The place is spotless and well kitted out, there's everything you need. We bbq'd each night (gas BBQs allowed only) on the decking area. The staff are so so friendly and the view from the pod was stunning. Would recommend taking a boat trip on the sir Walter Scott and cycling back along the loch (you can rent bikes anf helmets from beside the pier and the staff at the bike hire shop were so friendly too). Highly recommend this place.

User

Just home from 2 nights stay in the en suite eco lodges. wow, they were just perfect, spotless and brand new, and everything we needed, shower was hot at all times and comfy beds. The site was getting new turf laid and new kitchen area being finished all to the advantage of this lovely spot on Loch Katrine. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Fab cycle paths around the loch with gorgeous vantage points. I will be booking again for later in the year

User

Just back from the Eco Pods beautifully situated on the banks of Loch Katrine . Spent 2 nights in 'Loch Katrine'. Pods are absolutely beautiful, 5 star. Equipped with everything you need for a restful peaceful short break. Loch Katrine is ensuite and has a lovely comfy king-size bed, spacious glass fronted veranda with patio furniture where you can watch the boats sailing up and down the water. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, really can't recommend highly enough, we'll definitely be back.

User

I took my 2 children for a cruise on the steam ship that had a special pirate theme. It was fantastic fun, crew and pirate actors couldn’t have been more friendly and our so much effort in. We used an itison voucher that included an ice cream after. The staff had also organised a treasure hunt with clues the kids had to follow and once they had collected all the letters they got a treat from the treasure chest and their face painted. This is a really well organised destination that I would definitely return to, even without the pirate theme for that weekend it was a beautiful cruise. Great to stop in Aberfoyle on the way too.

User

Was out for a run in the car and ended up at Loch Katrine .Got tickets for a ride on the Sir Walter Scott and ten minutes later were off on the loch, weather was gorgeous and very informative commentary by the boats skipper. After boat trip went to the cafe for coffees and sandwiches.
