COVID-19 UPDATE
Following on from the latest advice from the government, we have taken the hard to decision to cancel all cruises for the month of April. As you can appreciate, we have not taken this decision lightly, as we are a small family business, however we all must do what we can to slow the spread. For all existing bookings, we’ll be getting in touch over the next few days to talk about rearranging or to issue a refund. ... We’d just to like thank everyone from our customers to the local community for all the support they’ve given to those that need it. Stay safe everyone, wash your hands and we’ll keep you all updated ❤️

COVID-19 UPDATE
We would like to reassure customers of the steps we are taking to ensure the safety of customers and staff, in light of the uncertainty we face with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Hygiene has always been important to us at Loch Ness Cruises. We are closely following the guidance of the NHS and Scottish Government and will be implementing the following precautionary measures;... 1. Our boat and minibus will be disinfected after each cruise. This means we will be running a reduced number of cruises whilst the uncertainty remains. 2. A hand disinfection station has been installed on our boat, and passengers will be encouraged by the skipper to make full use of these facilities 3. Hand Gel will be available at Celtic Crafts Gift Shop, our booking office. To also give you more peace of mind with your booking, we've decided to allow all existing and new bookings one free date change which will even allow you to move your booking to 2021.
We'd like to thank everyone for their support and co-operation during this difficult time. On a lighter note, we may have made the first sighting of the year and even Nessie is taking her precautions!

So this is what it was all about... Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity contacted us a few months ago about taking young Zachary out for some monster spotting. Of course we said yes and today the magic happened 🎉 Here’s Zachery and our skipper Dave having a merry time. Tune into STV News tonight at 6pm for the full story and we’ll post more photos over the next couple of days ❤️

It may be a bit cold here now, but it’s worth it for mornings like this ❄️
We are also delighted to announce that following an unannounced visit from VisitScotland they were very happy to renew our 4 star quality assurance score, for providing “an excellent customer experience”.
We remain the only cruise operator based in Drumnadrochit with this award ❤️

There may only be 2 weeks left until we close for winter, but we’re still getting some lovely autumn days 🍂🍁

Did you know that 67 years ago today, Loch Ness was the site of a world water speed record run?
John Cobb, in his jet powered boat called “The Crusader” was attempting to be the first man to break the 200mph barrier on water. Sadly, his boat hit water turbulence at an estimated speed of over 200mph, where it then broke up and John Cobb was killed instantly. Even though Mr Cobb went over 200mph, it was never officially recorded as he did not complete the two runs needed to ...set a new record. It wasn’t until another 3 years later, in 1955, that John Campbell managed to officially set a speed of 202mph.
Today, all that remains on the loch to remember him are a set of concrete posts which marked the starting point of the measured mile. John Cobb would have passed these as maximum speed, not knowing he was a few seconds from catastrophe.
Attached is a link to some old newsreel footage of #JohnCobb time at #LochNess and what the marker posts look like today.
