A day of 4 seasons on the Aonach Eagach with Ian today. We had sleet, hail, rain and some sun during the day with pretty wet conditions on the scrambling. Ian put in a sterling performance to leave him only 1 more Munro left to climb. An autumnal feel in the air today for sure! Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

It's not often I get a chance to have a play on the Cuillin but with a day off, a great forecast and a short detour, I headed up on the ridge today. I traversed from Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh over Sgùrr a' Mhadaidh and the 4 tops and then on to the fantastic tops of Bidean Druim nan Ramh. I hadn't descended into Coir' a Tairneilear before so it was good to explore this as a descent route. Cool at times today with a definite feel of Autumn in the air!

A stunning day on Liathach today! I was back out with James, who after successfully traversing the Aonach Eagach in May, wanted to tick off a couple more of his 4 remaining Munros. We had great fun on the Am Fasarinen Pinnacles, sticking to the crest as much as possible. The pictures say it all really! Association of Mountaineering Instructors

Fantastic conditions on the Aonach Eagach today! Henrietta and Ben are in the area on their honeymoon and today they got a chance to enjoy one of Glencoe's best scrambles. A few ferral goats were enjoying the sunshine near Meall Dearg too! A brilliant day to be out. Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

Sunshine and showers in abundance in Glen Nevis today. I was back out with Matt, who was after a chilled out day after our last two days in the mountains. We looked at some climbing movement, weight transfer and precise footwork before climbing a wet Three Pines. An abseil got us back down for lunch and we spent the rest of the afternoon looking at some tactics a leader can use such as planning a route, some breathing exercises and efficient gear placements. Thanks to MIA trainee Tim for coming along and well done to Matt on 3 great days out! Association of Mountaineering Instructors

With some heavy rain on the forecast, Matt and I headed to Glencoe today to try and get a route done in the dry. We made the most of the short approach and climbed the excellent North Buttress on Buachaille Etive Mòr. After the first pitch the cloud level dropped and things were a bit drizzly for the rest of the climbing but not too much so. When sticking to the line in the chimneys this climb feels as hard as anything on Tower Ridge (which Matt agreed with today!). Top effort again today, here's hoping for some dryish weather tomorrow! Yesterday Hannah was on a grand day out in the Cairngorms with Marjan and Mirta. They climbed the UK's second highest peak, Ben Macdui before descending to Loch Avon. Finishing the day, they managed to bag Cairn Gorm too! A superb effort on an epic landscape, well done ladies!

A much brighter day than expected today! Matt was keen to get into the mountains so we chose the superb Tower Ridge as our goal for the day. The damp rock soon started to dry out and we had great fun climbing the Little Tower before heading onto the Great Tower and Tower Gap. A quick sandwich stop on the summit and we descended Ledge Route on dry, grippy rock. A top day out on Ben Nevis! Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

An awesome day with Paul, Laura and young Finn on the classic Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mòr. Perfect conditions meant for some fun scrambling and amazing views. A top effort from the team today, especially 8 year old Finn- well done guys! Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

Today Hannah was out guiding Izzatina on the classic Carn Mor Dearg Arête. The weather was fairly kind with the cloud lifting at times to reveal some breathtaking views. This is a grand day out in the mountains with around 1500m of ascent and descent and some lovely scrambling on the large granite boulders of the arete. Well done to Izzatina on completing her biggest day out in the hills so far! #myoutdoorcapital Ben Nevis Visitor Centre

Back on the Carn Mor Dearg Arête today, this time with Kostas. We had some amazing views and lots of swirling cloud to make it a stunning day to be up high. Top effort from Kostas on the best walking route up Ben Nevis! #myoutdoorcapital

A misty start revealed some spectacular views over to Ben Nevis from Carn Mor Dearg. Well done to Jennifer, Jan and Sue for completing one of Scotland's best big mountain walks! The Outdoor Capital of the UK

It certainly was a bit wet on Ledge Route today! Thankfully, Ricky and Joel were made of stern stuff and we had a great day out exploring this fantastic route on the North Face of Ben Nevis. Well done gents on your first Scottish mountain experience! Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

A mizzly day on the Cuillin today. I was out with Jamie who was celebrating a big birthday. The empty car park at Glen Brittle give us a hint of the quiet to come on the ridge and we didn't see a soul until past Coire Lagan on our way down. We climbed a wet but very calm Inaccessible Pinnacle before heading down to Bealach Coire Lagan and onto Sgurr Mhic Choinnich. Lots of slippery basalt today but Jamie managed very well. Top effort David and team!

Some very fine weather in Glencoe today. I was out with returning clients Mark, Alan and Graham and joined by trainee Mountaineering Instructor Tim. After Ledge Route last year the chaps were keen to ramp things up a notch and the Aonach Eagach fitted the bill perfectly. A superb team effort with some comfort zones stretched! Well done guys and thanks for your assistance Tim. Association of Mountaineering Instructors #myoutdoorcapital

A great day out with Chris, Jacob and Sarah in Glencoe. We bagged the team's first Munro, Meall Dearg on the awesome Aonach Eagach and had some spectacular views once the mist cleared. I was working for West Coast Mountain Guides.

Sunshine and showers on my first of 3 days on the Aonach Eagach today. I was out with Nick and Kate who made great progress along the notched ridge despite some wet rock to contend with this morning. Feeling chilly on the tops today compared with the summer so far! Association of Mountaineering Instructors

We hiked today Ben Nevis with Andy, trained yesterday a bit. Very professional and excellent expertise. Def 5* and we are looking to further climbs/hikes with him.

User

On 30.4.17 we climbed Ben Nevis for charity, Dave and his team did an amazing job keeping us motivated and all 15 of us made it to the top! Thank you guys for a brilliant day!

In May I was fortunate to be able to climb Ben Nevis' North Face with Lochaber Guides. I do not hesitate to say that it was not only the highlight of my UK trip but one of the best experiences of my life. The location is completely awe inspiring but Dave has so much experience and knowledge of the Mountain, its geology, history, flora and fauna that the experience was so much more than a climb. His mountaineering experience and qualifications mean that you are in safe hands at all times. I will definitely return but wouldn't consider this climb without Lochaber Guides. Thanks Dave!

User

Brilliant day today doing the Aonoch Eagach! Dave made us feel safe at all times and was a great guy. Would recommend to anyone and will hopefully book again in the future!
