Lodge Wemyss No.777 Description
The charter for Lodge Wemyss, West Wemyss was granted on 7th August 1890 and bore the coveted number 777. Until a proper Lodge building was obtained, the meetings were held in the Dorothy school at West Wemyss. At a meeting on 4th September 1890, Bro C L Ward presented the Lodge with a silver square and compasses and Bro J Galloway provided a bible. Bro Wemyss agreed to provide all paraphenalia required to set up the Lodge, the colours of which would be dark blue.
On 25th September 1890 RWM Bro Randolph Gordon Erskine Wemyss was in the chair. He had been a member of Lodge Oswald of Dunnikier since 1888 and that night 8 gentlemen were initiated into the Lodge. As a mark of esteem and as a measure of thanks for the way he had treated the Lodge, the brethren presented Bro Wemyss with a full set of regalia. Bro Wemyss announced that he intended to pay for the conversion of the old church in West Wemyss to be used as the Lodge building. The consecration of the Lodge was held on 11th June 1892.

Morning all,
Would like to take a moment to say on behalf of myself and all at lodge Wemyss 777, a very big thank you to all the visitors who took time out to come visit last evening, for our FC Degree.
As those who attended last night will know, I have had a wonderful surprise visit from a very special friend from Lubbock Texas, who came over especially to spend time with my family and myself.
... It was a life’s ambition for My friend to come visit Scotland and while here take in some visits to Scottish Lodges.
Mickey Kelly arrived on our shores just over 24 hours before he attended last nights meeting. Like myself he was blown away with the volume of visitors and the welcome he received from all in attendance. As we all know this is what Freemasonry is all about and last night was a fine example of that.
Once again thank you brethren for visiting. I trust you all had an enjoyable evening.
I want to thank all at 777 for the hard work that goes in to preparing for and carrying out our degree work. Office bearers, you did yourselves and your lodge proud. Past Masters I want to thank you personally for all your support, assistance, guidance and words of wisdom. I am one very proud RWM just now!!
Mickey and myself will be out and about visiting between now and his departure back to Texas in a couple of weeks time. We look forward to seeing you all on our visits.

Last nights Burns Supper was a great success. The hall was not the busiest that it’s been, but everyone was up dancing to the fine music and it looked like everyone had a good time.
Getting to sit at the top table with my good lady and parents along with my DM and two reigning RWM’s and their good lady’s made it another proud night in a long list of proud moments since taking the chair in September.
Thanks to everyone who came and a very special vote of thanks to PM Gerry S...utton for all his hard work to make it happen. Not to mention his fine Burns renditions.
