A snapshot of Saturday’s first Logie Steading Mini-Markets by Coran Gleed Photography
We were so lucky with the weather after what feels like weeks of rain and was lovely to see plenty of new faces at Logie Steading. Keep an eye out for these mini markets which now run every third Saturday of the month up until (and including) October.
Thank you to all who came!
... The pictures: 1. Folk gathering around Aaron Sterritt Woodwork - having a go on his shave horses (saw some lovely spatulas being made from Logie-grown wood Logie Timber) 2. People admiring Moo prints own gorgeous designs on aprons, mugs & tea towels - being modelled here by Emma’s husband while she was no doubt off shaving another spatula (and then teaching others how to do it!) 3. Delicious purchases at Zepice - amazing spice blends 4. Handmade crafts galore in the courtyard 5. Jude, one of the organisers of the event, talking to customers The Hellygog Shop 6. Aaron Sterritt Woodwork showing families how to make Bee Hotels.

BBC Radio Scotland's Out of Doors programme came to interview Panny Laing last week as part of a feature on the area. The programme's now live - if you'd like to have a listen, here's the link. Panny is from about 27 minutes in with some interesting chat about the Longhorns and the Steading's history up to the latest developments.

The new edition of Peter Irvine's 'Scotland the Best' is out now and we are seriously delighted & honoured to be at the top of his 'Best Shopping for Scotland' recommendations and to have received two ticks again!
Great to see Moray at the top with Logie Steading and Johnstons of Elgin the only two-tick 'Best Shopping for Scotland' destinations!
If you'd like to discover more about the best of Scotland according to Peter Irvine (who's been checking up on us all for over 20 years), the book is available - among many other places! - at Logie Steading Art Gallery

Here’s a wee job that taught me something. The work was straightforward enough it’d been sat over a fireplace and the original had been darkened by the smoke in addition to a coating of varnish that had been applied.
I’d no idea there’d been a brick and tile works in Craigellachie - and quite a large place too. My wife Sandra is from Rothes and she’d never heard of it (and her Dad was a roofer/slater!)
