Lomond Yoga Description

Sandy is a fully accredited Yoga Teacher – certified and insured by Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Sandy first found yoga through a friend recommending an introduction to ashtanga by Kisen and from that point she was hooked! Coming from a background of ballet and later competing in national level athletics, she found the focus on meditation and breath complimentary to the many training miles on the track and road. Moving to London post university, and working in media strategy for the last 18 years - yoga continues to inspire and provide a physical and emotional balance to the hectic day-to-day. Having started with ashtanga, for the last ten years her practice has favoured bikram and other forms of hot yoga and she is keen to share the love and passion she has experienced in her ongoing yoga journey - with others through teaching.

Her speciality is performance yoga for sport in particular athletics, cycling and tri ~ developing endurance, strength, awareness of alignment and mental focus for athletes from all backgrounds and levels.

Sandy regularly ranked in the top 25 in the UK across various distances from 1500m to 10km and is currently back training following the birth of her daughter.

Her class style is strong, dynamic and uplifting – with a focus on stamina and form - but also ensuring students show grace and kindness to their self in their practice and appreciate the powerful role yoga has in athlete recovery.

Classes are designed for both a heated and unheated hatha practice.

As a mum, Sandy is also passionate about sharing the benefit yoga has in offering women the opportunity to regain fitness and build strength following childbirth. Her postnatal fitness yoga is a safe and energising practice open to all mums from 12 weeks postpartum.

Sandy lives in Dundee, Scotland and is wife to Graham and Mum to Eve.
